Cool spot to hang on a warm day. Nice grassy area to lay your towels and catch some rays. The spring fed water is clean and the views of the Austin skyline make for a unique experience everyone should try when visiting the city. Plenty of life guards on duty and theres even a diving board. Come between 8pm and 10pm to get in for free.

Great place overall! I really enjoyed the experience. There’s a nice variety of depths, which makes it fun for both relaxing and diving. You can also find shaded areas, which is a big plus on hot days. However, there are a few downsides. You’re not allowed to bring any drinks or food, and there aren’t any options available for purchase inside, which is inconvenient. Also, the line at the entrance during peak hours moves very slowly — it seems understaffed with only a couple of people checking guests in. For $22 for 3 people, it would be reasonable to improve the experience by adding more staff at the entrance, as well as more seating like benches or loungers. Overall, still a nice place to visit, but there’s definitely room for improvement

Wow, for $9 it was great. Yes it’s life guarded, there’s a diving board, an area for poor swimmers, area for swimmers, there are floaties, and also if you go underwater there are fish! (And the occasional turtle). Plenty of grass space for lounging, lots of it on this down sloped hill. The parking is free on weekdays as well.

This natural pool is free during the winter months. The temperature was around 70°, but don’t be fooled that is not as warm as you think it will be. There is a diving board and there are fish in the water. It has a good view of the Austin city skyline and is very centrally located to Austin. I would recommend but really only if you are a good swimmer.

I've heard so many great things about Barton Springs pool over the years and finally made it. What a great place to either go by yourself or with friends. The water is clear and refreshing. They have lifeguards on duty and plenty of space for people to swim. I was on a temporary assignment while in Austin and went to Barton Springs every week. They have men's and women's changing rooms that are set up in what I would call a Roman bathhouse style with open air hot showers when you're done swimming. If you have the time and enjoy swimming in a local swimming hole, this is the place for you.
