This was my first time at Jazz, TX and I was impressed by the wonderfully small and quaint venue. As small as it is, it does NOT feel crowded. Someone made a very conscious decision to not pack the space with tables and chairs (as some venues do) for the purpose of increased revenue and you won't appreciate this until you are there watching how easy it is for the staff to move around and serve you. I sat at the bar, which is fully stocked and they made an off menu drink for me (a Penicillin) which was expertly made, as were two of there on menu drinks were. The acoustics were great. At the start, the performer - Emmaline - was talking over music from her band and I could barely hear her - the music was too loud, but they adjusted and every time she spoke afterwards, they were quiet and let her speak and then came in. Maybe if there were speakers facing the bar, or behind the bar, that would be helpful because I was hearing more kitchen and bar activity than I would have liked to, but when Emmaline sang, ir whipped out her violin, my ears really didn't focus on much else ❤️. Any complaints? One! The bar stools!!! 😖 Sitting in them felt like I was in "The Sunken Place" from the movie "Get Out". These stools have been SAT ON!!!, so much so that you truly sink down in them. I'm 6'4" and it felt insanely uncomfortable - to me. What would some stools with more solid cushions cost I wonder 🤔? The bar itself was beautiful and if you're eating at it, you will not be cramped for room. My first experience at Jazz, TX was a decidedly wonderful one. I will return. But I won't sit on those bar stools again 🫠

This was our first time too a jazz club and had been wanting to come here for a while. We went for our 30th anniversary. The atmosphere is perfect for jazz. The other patrons were just as mellow as the music from Noelle. Curtis the trumpet player was amazing. Travis on keys, phenomenal. Mr. Perez on bass was on point and the drummer was outstanding. Seeing all the emotions of the pieces on his face was awesome! We'll definitely be back.

This a must see! If you’re staying at the Pearl or nearby and your bar is high, this experience is a must. I lived in San Antonio for years and took too long to go. The music is excellent, the food far exceeded my expectations, and the cocktails are delicately crafted. All the staff are detail oriented and friendly. Book early, I’ve sat at the bar and the regular tables and both were great. You might have a slight visual obstruction if you’re sitting at the far end near the restrooms but otherwise no bad seat in the house! A true gem at the Historic Pearl.

First of all, what a classy place. It’s the perfect size and the service was incredible at the bar. I ate the Braised Tenderloin, it was absolutely delicious but did need a little longer in the braise or I might have gotten a tough chunk. No matter, I ate every bit. The bourbon selection is vast and the old fashioned’s are made perfectly. They do not put a cherry in the drink which is a hill I will die on, but they do serve a cherry on a toothpick which is laid across the top of the glass. The bartenders really know what they are doing and were extremely pleasant, I can’t stress that enough! I will be going here as much as I can! Go check it out!

We had such a fun night at Jazz, TX! The Dirty River Jazz Band performed that evening, and they were absolutely wonderful. The energy felt natural and almost impromptu in the best way — especially toward the end when they brought one of the bartenders up to sing for the finale. It made the whole show feel authentic and interactive. They really know how to engage the crowd. At one point they had the audience participating, which made the experience even more fun and memorable. It honestly reminded me of our trip to New Orleans — that lively, intimate jazz vibe where you feel part of the performance, not just watching it. The band members were entertaining, talented, and clearly passionate about what they do. On top of that, the service staff was attentive and friendly. We were served right away, and the entire team made the evening seamless. What I love about Jazz, TX is that it’s such an inexpensive and easy way to enjoy a night out — a great nightcap with live jazz music in a cozy setting. If you’re out in town and want to relax, unwind, and enjoy quality entertainment, this is the spot. Make sure to reserve ahead — it’s very easy to book online. They feature different bands and singers regularly, and they tend to pack the house. With two shows offered each night, reservations are definitely the way to go. It’s always been a great experience for us, and we’ll absolutely be back again.
