Go for a Swim at Hamilton Pool Preserve

Nice little hiking trail. Only 1.25 miles even if you go to the river so don't come here for marathon prep. The pool is OK clean, the park always lets you know if the water quality is acceptable. 80F in the summer 49F in the winter. The trail under the ledge is closed because it's said to be at risk of coming down any moment so swim at your own risk!

Great spot but important to do a pre-booking your hiking adventure online at $12 per car. At the park, it's $8 per adult, payable in cash as they don't accept card payments. The staff and park rangers are incredibly helpful and friendly. It's a charming location centered around a small lake. Both the pool and river at the end of the trail have shallow water levels.

Very clean and organized facilities. We have a 4 and 8 year old and they loved the hike and wading into the water. You have to have reservations!

Awesome spot! It's about a 8 minute hike to the pool , no pavement, very rocky so be ready, restroom available, beautiful scenery. No access to the cave or water due to hazardous and water level of bacteria was high. There was a man there sharing some awesome information about fossils and animals seen there w skeletons remains. Overall a very nice experience! Don't forget to make your reservation online and take cash for an additional charge per person to get in.

Greatly disappointed with the Hamilton Pool. Due to the failing rocks during the winter freeze a couple of years ago, the park has sectioned off a great portion of the pool so that you can't fully swim freely as you would like. In addition there's nothing really specially about the area after walking through the trails. However, the Park Rangers are wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about them as they were cordial and helpful.
