Description

Greeter Falls Trail offers a scenic hiking experience in Tennessee's Savage Gulf State Natural Area. The trail leads to Greeter Falls, a breathtaking double-tiered waterfall. The upper fall features a shelf with water cascading into a shallow pool, while the lower fall offers a more dramatic drop into a larger pool. Hikers can also enjoy a refreshing swim in the trail's swimming hole. The trail is relatively short at one mile round-trip but is rated moderate due to its steep sections and rocky terrain. A wooden staircase helps descend into the canyon, but caution is needed due to slippery rocks.

Start at the parking lot/trailhead and follow the signs to Greeter Falls.
Descend into the canyon using the wooden staircase, being careful of slippery rocks.
Visit the upper Greeter Falls, where you can see the water flowing over a shallow shelf.
Continue to the lower Greeter Falls, where you can swim at the base or hike behind the falls.
Enjoy the nearby swimming hole for a refreshing dip.

This is an amazing place, the hike is not long and it had so many beautiful spots to spend with your love ones. The kids loved it because you can take a swim, and refresh. Falls are breath taking!! Amazing creations of God. We went early morning 🌄 and the weather was wonderful. Bring a change of clothes, and towels for the kids :).

This camp site was awesome!! Beautiful trails and waterfalls. The entire atmosphere was great. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Bath room and showers were cleaned well. You’re not on top of each other with your campers! I’d recommend this place to anyone

Really pretty, but crazy crowded waterfall. It was only a short hike down to the Falls, but it was steep and there is a tiny, metal spiral staircase and then a slippery set of stairs and boulders to get the base of the Falls. From there, if it's a hot, busy day, get there early if you want to find a spot to sit, swim, or wade. It's worth it to hike the Falls Loop Trail to Boardtree Falls if you have time, but Greeter Falls is definitely the star.

What a site to behold! These waterfalls and the blue hole are absolutely stunning. The hike is not very long, but I would say it's intermediate level as it's a very rocky terrain to climb up and down. A good pair of hiking shoes helps tremendously for slick areas. My elementary and middle school aged kids found the trail easy and had a blast exploring. 10/10 recommend. If I went by myself I could sit on a rock all day and take in the beauty.

30-40 minute hike to the fall. Lots of hikers. You’ll have to take turns on the metal spiral staircase. You can’t tell if someone is getting on until they do. The visibility on is not good. It’s along a rock wall. You won’t know how long that line is until someone stops. The waterfall was so refreshing. Nice large swim hole.
