Rainbow Springs State Park is a wonderful weekend destination for friends and families. The park features a spacious, lush green setting filled with beautiful trees. Many visitors relax on the grass under the shade, enjoying the sunshine and peaceful atmosphere. One of the highlights of the park is its crystal-clear blue spring and river. Visitors can rent kayaks and paddle along the river while enjoying the scenic views. The rental price is very affordable—we paid only $13 for 30 minutes today. Admission is also inexpensive at just $5 per vehicle. My friends and I had a great time spotting wild birds and turtles in their natural habitat, which was a delightful experience. The park also offers a designated swimming area with floating safety barriers, providing a safe place for visitors to enjoy the water. Everything about this park was fantastic, and we will definitely be coming back again.

I’ve been in Tampa for 10 years and can’t believe this was my first time making it here! Will definitely be back. The kayaking is wonderful. You can rent kayaks directly from the state park at the Headsprings entrance. There’s a blocked off area for swimming that was so cool. There’s also a cafe and a great grassy area where people were laid out on blankets and having picnics with their family or reading and relaxing. No matter how many pictures you see of the river, you’ll see be in awe of its clarity. There are gators we saw about 3 of them on the bank but they will leave you be, just don’t get close to them. We were warned about river otters but did not encounter any. Important Note: you now have to have a reservation at the park to enter. It was easy to do online. The cost to get in was $4-5, and the cost of the kayaks was $19/hour or $56 for the day. You pay at the end which works out well because then you don’t need to decide in advance how long you want to kayak for.

We had such a great visit to Rainbow Springs State Park—it’s easily one of the most beautiful natural spots in Florida. The crystal-clear water really lives up to the name, with shades of blue and green that almost don’t look real. The gardens and walking paths are well maintained and easy to navigate, making it a relaxing place to spend a few hours at your own pace. One of our favorite parts was the series of small waterfalls throughout the park—unexpected and a nice touch that adds to the overall atmosphere. The entire park feels peaceful and well cared for. Whether you’re there to swim, kayak, or just enjoy a scenic walk, it’s a perfect mix of nature and accessibility. Plenty of parking, easy to get around, and a great option for a day trip. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near the area.

What an absolutely stunning park! The swimming area is crystal clear! Snorkeling was fun. Not many fish, which is expected with the volume of people swimming, but we saw a few fish and turtles. The water is cool so just jump in...its the easiest way to adjust. Id recommend the 10 minute or so walk to the waterfalls and then go swiming to cool off.

We visited Rainbow Springs for Mother’s Day and had an amazing time. The park was beautiful, clean, and peaceful, with crystal-clear water, great scenery, and plenty of space to enjoy the day as a family. It was the perfect mix of relaxing and fun. The springs themselves were absolutely gorgeous, and the whole place had that quiet Florida magic that makes you slow down and actually enjoy where you are. It was a great spot to spend Mother’s Day, make memories with the kids, and just enjoy being outside together. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back. Rainbow Springs is one of those places that reminds you how beautiful Florida really is when you get away from the noise for a bit.
