A beautiful area to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountain vistas. Unfortunately over the years traffic here has gotten out of control and the accessibility of the bridge (parking lot right across from it) means everyone and their mom will be there. I’m probably gatekeeping a little here, but the crowds of people in crocs and kids in strollers distract from a lot of the beautiful nature here.

First time here in over 40 years. I loved it. Never went across the bridge as a child but I went across it on this visit. Gorgeous views!

The bridge is very well built and the veil is amazing. The bridge is narrow so it's a tight squeeze to pass people walking the opposite way. There is also a small rocky trail after you walk across the bridge where there is no buildings or structures to block the view but it is a rough trail. There is also a small museum and gift shop at the exit too.

Definitely worth the adventure to cross the bridge for a breath of fresh air and to take it all in. The gift shop is very nice and so is the exhibition on the other level. However, I don’t recommend the 1-2 mile treacherous extension loop hike to get to the top parking lot from the lower lot, UNLESS you are very athletic and an avid hiker because it was filled with huge boulders, many roots, muddy terrain, and constant elevation changes that were difficult to climb and walk through for the average healthy person, while it didn’t provide any scenic overlook advantages really, just put us in harms way due to the extreme difficulty level of the hike. (It was not labeled nor warned as such)

It was a great view of only it wasn't foggy and raining. The animal habitat was cool. They had Elk,Black Bears, Bald Eagles, Otters and Cougars. Pretty cool to see them so close. I will come again when the weather is better
