Not for the feint of heart! You can get to this bridge by either a short hike (uphill, very rocky), or driving up to a parking lot. If you choose to drive, there is a gift shop at the top of the hill that has an elevator that will take you the rest of the way to the bridge. Once you are on the bridge, it can get crowded pretty quickly. The bridge has protection around it, but the rocky areas around it do not. I would suggest being very mindful of this if bringing children. The views from the bridge and the areas around it are beautiful, and this is definitely worth the visit. The gift shop has restrooms, snacks, and water.

1000 stars! Grandfather Mountain is THE place to go in the Boone area. Zoo, gift shop, hiking, amazing views places to picnic. It's $25 per person and well worth it. If you plan to hike the Grandfather trail BE PREPARED. It is no joke, extremely difficult, dangerous and long. Prepare for the weather. It can be much cooler at the summit and the winds can be heavy, even on nice days.

BREATHTAKING views!!! Go early.. we went at 8.30 and only few people were around which made this place quiet and peaceful for us to Enjoy!!! Amazing views and worth the price of Ticket…The gift shop was Good!!

Must visit mountain attraction. Worth driving and seeing the bridge and the surrounding. Be careful with the hike further as the rocks are slippery due to their steep. Also make sure to wear a shoe with a good grip. One more small tip is to put some bug spray on your exposed skin.

Awesome experience! Time well spent if you don’t mind heights. The clouds were rolling through but occasionally broke for some unbelievable views. The gift shop is also worth a visit if you’re looking for a souvenir to remember the experience.
