Guided New River Gorge Bridge Catwalk Tour

Definitely a worthwhile experience! Paul, our guide, was knowledgeable and made the whole tour fun. The day started a bit overcast but the sun came out as our tour got underway, which made the views from the bridge absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend booking a tour with this company. They placed on a cancellation since we dropped the ball a bit on booking ahead of time, and were very pleased to be able to secure a tour on the day that we were in town. All employees were spoke to were very kind and helpful. They even let us borrow a lanyard for our phone since they were sold out during our visit. 10/10, would do it again!

He helped us with everything, explained everything really well, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Very cool experience. If you aren't afraid of heights I highly recommend. The Bridge Walk was one of the highlights of my trip to West Virginia. The views of the New River Gorge are absolutely spectacular and give you a perspective you simply can't get from the overlooks. Walking beneath the bridge was both exciting and surprisingly comfortable, even for someone who isn't a fan of heights. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and did a great job explaining the history and engineering of the bridge while making everyone feel safe. The safety equipment was top-notch, and the entire experience was very well organized from start to finish. If you're visiting the New River Gorge area, I highly recommend the Bridge Walk. It's a unique experience that combines incredible scenery, local history, and just enough adventure to make it memorable. Definitely worth doing at least once.

I was sufficiently freaked out by this experience, much more than I thought I would be. That being said, at no point did I feel even remotely unsafe. The hight was intense, especially when we sat and dangled our feet off the walkway. Our guide, Larry, was fantastic. He clearly enjoys his job. He had lots of interesting facts and stories about the bridge and surrounding areas. He had a very calm demeanor, which the more scared of us definitely appreciated. While I personally wouldn't do this again, I'm glad that I did the tour. If you're not certain you want to do it, you should just sign up and go. Amazing, although personally a bit scary, experience. Definitely book well in advance.

A little pricey (offsetting lots of insurance cost), but a great experience! Fletcher, our guide, led a group of 7 (including my wife and me) across the bridge walk, with numerous stops to explain the landscape, the bridge, other area activities, etc., and also to allow for photo opps. We got lots of beautiful pics, and had a great time. The shuttle back to the office / gift shop had cold water for us, which was very welcome! There are slight vibrations from traffic crossing overhead, but the catwalk is very safe and sturdy, and the harness / trolley system is like belt and suspenders for anyone a little squeamish. We had two close sightings of the same peregrine falcon! Highly recommended!
