Bridge walk is awesome!!! We did the bridge walk yesterday evening, last tour of the day. Ava was our guide. She was great! Super helpful, knowledgeable, and fun!! She was definitely interested in the work she does! Bridge walk is a Super unique experience unlike anything I've ever done! Exhilarating and fun with enough scary to keep your heart pumping. Feeling the vibration while the cars go over top was wild! 10/10 for the Bridge walk! We also got to see a peregrine falcon too! Amazing! Go do it!

Very cool experience. If you aren't afraid of heights I highly recommend. The Bridge Walk was one of the highlights of my trip to West Virginia. The views of the New River Gorge are absolutely spectacular and give you a perspective you simply can't get from the overlooks. Walking beneath the bridge was both exciting and surprisingly comfortable, even for someone who isn't a fan of heights. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and did a great job explaining the history and engineering of the bridge while making everyone feel safe. The safety equipment was top-notch, and the entire experience was very well organized from start to finish. If you're visiting the New River Gorge area, I highly recommend the Bridge Walk. It's a unique experience that combines incredible scenery, local history, and just enough adventure to make it memorable. Definitely worth doing at least once.

I was sufficiently freaked out by this experience, much more than I thought I would be. That being said, at no point did I feel even remotely unsafe. The hight was intense, especially when we sat and dangled our feet off the walkway. Our guide, Larry, was fantastic. He clearly enjoys his job. He had lots of interesting facts and stories about the bridge and surrounding areas. He had a very calm demeanor, which the more scared of us definitely appreciated. While I personally wouldn't do this again, I'm glad that I did the tour. If you're not certain you want to do it, you should just sign up and go. Amazing, although personally a bit scary, experience. Definitely book well in advance.

I highly recommend doing this experience. You really get a feel for just how big the bridge really is and you get some really cool pictures and stories of how the bridge was built. My guide was Paul. He was very knowledgeable and funny. He took the time to answer all of our questions and shared fun personal quips.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the Most Incredible Experiences of My Life We visited West Virginia for my birthday in March 2026, and this ended up being one of the absolute highlights of the trip. We first stopped at the overlook for New River Gorge Bridge — the views alone are breathtaking. Then we realized you can actually walk the bridge… and booked it right away for the next day. Booking & Timing — Off-Season Advantage Since it was March, we were able to book for the very next day without any problem. During late spring and summer, it gets much busier, so booking in advance is a must. Off-season gave us a more relaxed experience. Start Point — Everything You Need in One Place You begin at the Bridge Walk main office, which is very convenient: * Plenty of parking * Clean restrooms available before the tour * A small gift shop if you want souvenirs * A quick but important safety/technical briefing where they explain how everything works and what to expect After that, they take you on a short bus ride (about 5 minutes) to the bridge, and bring you back the same way after the tour. The Experience — Safe, but Adrenaline Guaranteed This was honestly one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done. The guides are extremely professional and make sure you feel secure the entire time. Everything is very well organized and safety-focused. At the same time… you are very high up, and you feel it. Even knowing you’re safe, it’s still thrilling and a little nerve-pushing — in the best way possible. Helpful Tips: * It can be cooler and windier on the bridge, so dress accordingly * You can bring a small backpack if needed * Photos and videos are allowed — and you’ll definitely want them If you’re visiting this area, this is a must-do. It’s unique, exciting, and something you’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommend — an unforgettable experience.
