Float down the World's Longest Lazy River at Waco Surf

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently enjoyed a work get-together while also celebrating a birthday at Waco Surf, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Mike Holder and his staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating to our group. We stayed two nights at the Waco Surf Hotel and had an excellent experience with Sara Wiseman. She made sure our check-in process was smooth and effortless, and throughout our stay she always greeted us with a friendly hello and a smile. We live locally and have been coming to Waco Surf for years, and it just keeps getting better every time we visit. We especially loved the new standing wave attraction—it’s a great addition to an already fun destination. We also spent time floating the lazy river and appreciated the comfortable tubes, complete with headrests and drink holders, which made relaxing even more enjoyable. Whether you’re staying overnight or just visiting for the day, Waco Surf offers a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and plenty of fun. We’re already looking forward to coming back again later this summer! 🌊☀️🏄‍♀️🎉

Awful experience for family trip which could have been prevented with better communication from facility. We planned trip from Houston to Waco Surf Park for Friday, May 22nd, 2026. Our daughter had watched a video on YouTube about water parks and this one seemed the most local to us, and there were several very high water slides which looked like a lot of fun. When we arrived, we were told by front desk that half the park was closed because of rains from the day before. The only things that were open were the hot tub, an area that’s part of the large wave pool, a smaller wave pool, and the beach area. The lazy river and the slides were off limits. We were told that you cannot swim past the Ridge (more on that in a minute). When we asked if they made the announcement anywhere online about part of the park being closed, the front desk attendant said it may have been posted on Instagram but no where else. This is the first instance where I feel communication could be improved so we would have tried to come on a different day when the entire park was open. We have not heard of a water park being closed the day after rain. We went ahead and paid admission and decided to try out what was available since we had driven 3 hours from Houston. When we got in the wading area part of the big Wave Pool, a lifeguard immediately blew the whistle at me because I was sitting on the Ridge that was part of the wading area. This is the second instance where communication could be improved; there were no signs anywhere indicating you can’t sit on the Ridge, only the front desk saying you can’t SWIM PAST the Ridge. The open area if you don’t pay for a surfboard session at most is only about 3 feet deep. The last thing that really irritated me was about getting in the Wave area with surfboards. When you walk into the admissions area, there’s a ton of surfboards and you can see people surfing in the big pool area behind the glass (connected to the area after the Ridge). I asked the front desk attendant and was told board rentals were between $25-35 per person depending on Soft or Hard style boards if I’m not mistaken. I interpreted that as that’s the cost you pay to be able to enter the Surfing area. When I asked about getting in, we were told that you have to book a session. I said ok, let’s do it and was told they have a 4 pm slot open (it was about a 2 hour wait). I did not understand that the people on surfboards in the big pool were part of a session you had to pay additionally for. When the Front Desk attendant rang me up, I was not expecting a $504 cost for a family of 3 to rent boards and pay for an instructor after I had been told it was between $25-35 per person to rent a surfboard. We honestly had a bad experience here and would not have made the trip if Waco Surf had better communication on their website that half their park will shut down after rain from previous day and that there are inconsistent rules about where you can and can’t swim in.

So fun, if you've been surfing for more than a handful of years, I highly recommend the advanced wave. I did the intermediate, enjoyed it but would like a lil more pop and steeper wall. I visited last week and had a blast.. 35 waves in 1 hr and I was gassed at the end. 2nd and 3rd waves in the set were the best IMO and I recommend surfing it with people that can paddle. If someone in your sesh misses or blows a wave, it can get tricky navigating around them. I had surf guide, Eli in the water with me and he was awesome and extremely helpful. An employee Tyler surfed my session and had a great vibe! I will be back. top notch experience and super stoked to finally paddle this pool! 🤙🤙🤙 All the employees were friendly, they have a good rental board selection and steak tacos in the shack are delish. I've surfed all over the world and this was a fun time, thanks guys!!!

★★★☆☆ Waco Surf was a cool experience overall and the water park itself was fun, but for the price there just wasn’t a whole lot to do. The place looks awesome and the vibe is nice, but it felt like we ran out of activities pretty quickly. Still had a good time, just expected more for how much it costs.

One of the best experiences thus far this summer. The friendly staff teaching my 6 year a old the fundamentals of surfing. Highly recommend if you are looking to get your kids into a new hobby or sport. They have beginners to expert level activities and courses.
