Float down the World's Longest Lazy River at Waco Surf

My family stayed here for one night and my kids and I attended a beginner session while staying at WacoSurf this spring. The facility is amazing and the instructors were the best we have had surfing anywhere. They were informative, helpful and extremely supportive. We surfed at noon and had stayed the night. It was thoroughly enjoyable to watch some of the advanced and professional surfers in their early morning sessions. The rooms with the view of the surf pool were great and the breakfast food truck for breakfast tacos were lights out. We really hope we get a chance to go back and try out more of the facility during the summer months. Highly recommend if you are touring through Texas.

Man, I’ve got to tell you, our recent visit to Waco was nothing short of legendary! Parking was a breeze and getting around couldn’t have been easier - everything clearly marked and laid out. Hats off to you guys for nailing the details right from the start! We bunked in one of your pool view rooms, and it was an absolute hit. Checking in to a clean - ready room! But let’s talk about the main event - those waves, they were insane! Your surfboard rental options are top-notch, a great selection to every level of surfing expertise. The guidance from your team on board selection? Spot on, helping us make the most out of our surf sessions. The advanced sessions were where the real magic happened, though. Big shoutout to the lifeguard who was out there with us, offering pointers and tips that seriously upped our game. It felt like a masterclass right there on the water! I can safely say we’ve found our annual surf pilgrimage spot. Waco Surf, you guys have got something special going on, and we can’t wait to make this a yearly ritual. We signed our kids up for a weekday mid-afternoon beginners surfing session. It had been a couple of years since they last rode any waves so it took them a couple of sets to get the feel of things. We were a little disappointed that our son ended up only getting to try 6 waves and our daughter got 7, with lots of waiting "in line" in between. This was our first time at a facility vs the ocean, so maybe that is pretty normal. The facilities were nice, very clean, and embraced the surfer theme well. Unfortunately a few beach chairs were damaged and so we had to drag chairs around to let our group sit together. Thankfully the beach wasn't very busy and there were plenty of chairs available for us to pick from.

This place is awesome!! Very family friendly, great staff, very nice facility. We live in Northwest Arkansas, and the 7.5 hour trip was well worth it. I surfed as a teen and 20-something, but school, work, family have kept me living far from the ocean over the past 10+ years. Have maybe had a dozen sessions in that time. Rented a board (great selection) got 2 sessions in. Was so much fun. Can't wait to head back! We also ran into pros: Sage Erickson (surf) and Daniel Norris (baseball). They were very nice. She ripped.
