Cantwell Lodge Group Retreat & Bungalow Escape in Hocking Hills

The Cliffs was absolutely incredible. You feel so beautifully part of the nature around you, while somehow still having every luxury you could want. We loved the sandstone waterfall, infinity pool, sauna, hot tub — truly, there wasn’t anything they didn’t think of. The bungalow itself was gorgeous. So modern and beautifully decorated, but in a way that keeps the focus exactly where it should be: outside. The huge windows are amazing, and it was unbelievably quiet and peaceful. We listened to so much Coldplay on the record player, soaked in the hot tub, and the kitchen was the perfect setup to cook a great dinner after a long day of hiking. And the location is perfect — so close to all of the Hocking Hills hikes, with a winery nearby, and honestly not much else you need. This might be the first vacation we’ve taken where our kids were perfectly content just being where we were. We literally didn’t spend a dollar after arriving until we went to the winery. I truly can’t recommend The Cliffs enough. It somehow manages to feel like an experience all on its own while also being the perfect home base for everything Hocking Hills has to offer. We absolutely loved it.

We had a wonderful stay at Cantwell Lodge and couldn’t have asked for a better property for our group of 18. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and exceptionally well-appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The accommodations were spacious and allowed everyone to spread out without ever feeling crowded. The amenities were top-notch, and it was clear that great attention was paid to both comfort and detail throughout the property. From gathering together in the common spaces to enjoying the peaceful surroundings, every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. Cantwell Lodge was the perfect home base for our group, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and spacious retreat. It’s also a close enough drive to enjoy all the state parks for hiking and exploring. We look forward to returning!

The pool, falls and forrest setting were breathtaking. We loved the small touches like board games, record player with records, coffee, sun screen, they truly thought of everything. We saw a family of deer while sitting on the deck drinking coffee. It is a hilly property so be prepared for lots of stairs. Worth every step!

Five stars! The Cliffs at Hocking Hills exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were beautifully designed, upscale, and incredibly comfortable, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax. The property feels luxurious while still being immersed in nature. We chose to do the culinary experience during our stay. The food was outstanding and added to the overall experience. If you’re looking for a special getaway in Hocking Hills, The Cliffs is absolutely worth it. We can’t wait to return!

Easy drive to all the hikes. Perfect for our family of 5! Our kids absolutely loved it and have asked if we can go back to the same house next year! Easy check out process and the house felt so clean! Would definitely return!
