Warm Springs Pools Soak at The Omni Homestead Resort

As a small business owner I know how much it hurts to give less than 5 stars so I gave 5 stars. This place wasn’t for me but I get the appeal. I came along with my wife who was there for work. The food was fine. Not spectacular and certainly not worth the price. My wife is vegetarian and nothing she ate was any good. They need someone who understands and likes vegetarian to create dishes for vegetarians. Drinks were way over priced so I walked to the ABC store a block away and got a bottle for the price of one drink and would refill in my room. The gym was pretty nice especially for a hotel but the trainer in there looked at me like I was going to steal something the whole time. I’m sure the spa was nice but I got a massage for 1/4 of the price down the road. If you’ve got money to burn this place is for you. Also go when it’s a little warmer you’ll find plenty to do. Not their fault we were there when it was cold and rainy. Also expect to wait 25 minutes for your valeted car. They only valet.

My husband and I went for a long weekend for our honeymoon. Glenn at the front desk was so welcoming and nice and made sure to let us know about the history tour. The room was comfortable and huge, bed was comfy. The history of the hotel tour was really interesting, the guide was also awesome! We ate at Woody’s and Jefferson’s Restaurant; Chip at Jefferson’s was a great server, he made sure to learn our names and went above and beyond! All in all a great honeymoon experience, definitely would return.

This resort is tucked into the mountains of western Virginia. It is a historic area to visit and has lots of characters, views, activities, and charm. It is absolutely beautiful in the fall as the leaves change colors, and the warm spring pools or hot spring spa is the place to soak in the atmosphere. The staff from valet to room service were wonderful, and the food was amazing. They are finishing up renovation, so pardon the mess, but the update was needed. The rooms look newer, but be mindful that some things look dated due to their historic value and only add to the character of this resort. There are plenty of activities throughout the resort, so don't stay in the room all day. This isn't for a stop over. This place deserves an extended stay to enjoy all that is available.

We enjoyed our stay and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. What was very disappointing was that we were not able to enjoy the on-site mineral spring at the facility. This was located at the spa and is available through “day passes”. The resort was at 25% capacity yet we were unable to get day passes because they were sold out. We tried booking two days ahead with no luck. Most were to people not staying at the resort. Resort guests should be prioritized! This place is pricey and guests not being able to utilize the amenities is ridiculous. It’s not much fun sitting around the resort and not able to enjoy what it’s famous for! Yes off site springs are available at a price but, guests shouldn’t have to resort to that. I depart frustrated and undecided about a return.

Spent a long weekend in mid-autumn here. Amazing fall foliage and beautiful hotel. Great staff and cozy vibes. The only reason I docked one star for the room is because the walls are so thin. There were girls in the room next to us who blow dried their hair every morning and we could basically hear their conversations. Also the elevator did not always work so we had to use the service stairwell which was not carpeted or heated. But overall, the views made up for that! Definitely family friendly.
