Walk Through the Waterfalls at Watkins Glen

Hiked the northern room two weeks ago as the Gorge trail was closed. Although the main attraction was closed, the northern Trail provided a lot of good sites of everything below and plenty of rest points. The stairs getting up to the north room to start or not for the lighthearted, take them slow because there’s so many of them. You can take the northern room all the way to the end but you have to come back the same trail. We crossed over the suspension bridge to the southern room to end the hike back to the main parking area. Breathtaking views would love to come back here again.

Amazing!!! A great trail for the whole family! Very beautiful and mesmerizing views. Light enough for many people. There are ups and downs, but everything is compensated by gorgeous views. There are shuttles to return to the beginning of the route to the parking lot. I will definitely come back again!!!

Beautiful. The Gorge trail was closed for the season so check the website before you come. You an still take other trails. No dogs on the gorge trail but ok in the park and other trails.

A glen is a "deep, narrow valley, especially in the mountains". Well, Watkins Glen surely lives up to its name - breathtaking gorges boasting nineteen (19) waterfalls of various heights, widths and force cascading downhill. Jagged steep cliffs surround you at times, but the paths are well maintained. On our October 29th fall visit, many of the paths were wet, some with large puddles - so wear good water-resistant hiking shoes. The hike is moderate. Expect to climb or descend many stone steps. My group walked about 3.5 miles exploring the various trails. Thoroughly enjoyed this fairy tale setting.
