Scenic Railbike Tours in North Creek

This is an absolute must if you are in the Adirondacks. We did the North bridge run and we had so much fun. Friendly guides, beautiful scenery, fresh mountain air, and learned some history about the area. It is definitely exercise (fun exercise) especially to the half way point but the way back was much easier . We even coasted without peddling at times. There's a basket on the back of the car to bring a small cooler and they take a photos for you if you have your cell phone. We are Definitely doing this again when we come back. Great family experience! Would love to see this expand to WNY or the southern tier area of NY so we could do it more often!

If you're anywhere near this, do it !!! It is such a unique and unforgettable experience! Everyone is extremely nice, there is a gift shop where you start for snacks and a bathroom as well which makes it really nice! Easy pedal out and then a down hill very easy pedal back with beautiful views both ways and 2 bridge crossings, one of which is across the Hudson River!

The staff were cheerful, organized, and enthusiastic. We rented a tandem bike and enjoyed cycling alongside the Hudson River. Even though we went during the peak of the heat wave, the shade and breeze made the ride quite comfortable. The views of nature were relaxing. Our guide gave us interesting information about the history of the rail line at the turn around point. Would definitely do another rail ride. This organization takes pride in the quality of your experience.

Revolution Rails is one of the coolest outdoor experiences I have gotten to try. We went on their Rails and Rivers experience which partners with Adirondack Adventures for a biking and tubing experience. We started off our day getting to enjoy a stunning and secluded bike ride along the old rail line located in North Creek. It was so cool to hear the history of the station and learn that this was the place where Roosevelt learned he was to be president after McKinley died. The bikes are incredibly comfortable and allow you to sit back in style while also getting in some light exercise during the 6 mile round trip tour. We did this on the first day of our trip and felt it was such a lovely way to see the area and understand a little more of the landscape we were about to be exploring. I truly wish we had known how much we were going to love this trip as we definitely would have considered booking the 20 mile bike ride in order to get to enjoy more of the natural wonders of the Adirondack region. Since your group is seated on the same rail bike together, you are able to control your speed and separate yourself from others biking so it feels like you have the whole trail to yourselves. Not having to steer was definitely a plus and added to the ease of the trip. Could not recommend this more as a unique way to enjoy this region!!

Be sure to book online- they will sell out! Everyone was super nice, including the guides on the rail. Once your tour starts, you will get bussed to the start location, about 10 minutes down the road. From there, you will meet your guides, and they will go over a few things before you head off. There will be guides in the very front and at the very back so if anything happens, someone will be available. It's 3 miles down, then you will take about a 20 minute break while they turn the bikes around, and then you will bike back, where the bus will pick you up again and take you back to the station. Total trip, plan for about 2.5 hours (no including the 15 minutes early you need to be there before the start of the tour). They do have baskets in the back of the bikes to place things and they also have umbrellas you can use- this is a rain or shine activity to plan accordingly!!
