Blue Hill Ranch Animal Adventures

For my 50th birthday I decided to celebrate at Blue Hills Ranch and I am so glad that I did. We stayed in the Zebra cabin and splurged on the all-inclusive package. The whole experience far exceeded my expectations. We had cows, horses, zebra and Lisa the emu greet us at our door. Elsa the cow in particular really liked to hang out by our back door every day. The cabin was nice and had everything we needed. It was a very hot few days in August when we were there and the cabin stayed nice and cool the whole time. The bed was comfortable. I loved looking out the back windows and watching the animals come and go as they pleased. I was pleasantly surprised at how many animals we saw all day long just hanging out at the cabin. The animal experiences were all amazing! My favorite, and the whole reason I picked this place, were the otters. I was able to swim with them on 2 different days and play with the babies twice also. They are so curious and make the most adorable sounds. Blue the giraffe was super friendly and always came right up to us when we would walk up to the fence to say hi. We were also able to feed Google some food, including crackers which he loved. It was an amazing experience and I hope that I am able to go back some day.

Great vacation spot! The ranch was immaculately clean and well maintained. The animals seemed happy, and the cabins were very clean and comfortable. We also scheduled the safari tour and baby kangaroo feeding. Both were very fun! All staff members seemed knowledgeable about the animals and enjoyed teaching us fun facts about them. Katelyn was our safari guide and seemed to really enjoy her job and ensuring we had a great experience. She knew all animals by name and also shared info about their personality traits. So cute! The staff was very accommodating making it family friendly and adaptable for all in our party- from our infant to our grandma. The only thing we didn’t like was the extra charge for guests. We were charged extra for a 4 year old and grandmother. The cabin sleeps 4, but they only allow 2 guests in the base price. Seemed to be a bit unreasonable, but the rest of our experience was great, so we didn’t feel the need to complain.

My wife is a HUGE fan of otters, has always loved them, and has always wanted to interact with one for as long as she can remember. For our wedding anniversary this year instead of taking her to a nice dinner and buying a gift, I decided to take her to Blue Hills Ranch instead for their swim and play with otters experience. It was a surprise why we were driving 2 and a half hours from home to do "something" for our anniversary and the payoff was worth every minute of my silence. Instant tears and joy from her when she heard them after we pulled up. She knew instantly that's what she was going to get to do and she could not contain her excitement. Anne was our guide and she was an absolute delight and a joy to work with as she set us up in their play area (was too cold for a swim unfortunately), to feed them. They were NOT shy in the slightest and we had the most amazing time with them all, including Anne! She was an absolute sweetheart and made sure we had the best experience possible. The otters though were the real stars of the show and they were so friggen adorable and sweet it was just such an incredible experience. I am extremely grateful that I was able to make this happen for my wife, who is the most amazing human on the planet and a pure soul who deserved every minute of this and more. Hoping we can return one day so she can do this again!

Y'all, I don't know where to begin, but my wife and I have been to several otter experiences across the country and this was HANDS DOWN out BEST experience ever! First of all, we arrived fairly late after nearly not making it at all (thanks, Delta), and the owner was 100% willing to work with us to make sure we still had the ability to maximize our getaway experience! We did purchase the All-Inclusive experience, which was well worth the cost. We were kept in the loop and invited on anything the staff had to do that day, and they continually checked with us to see what we wanted to do or experience that might not have been on their to-do list--but they made it happen anyhow. Definitely 6/5 starts, and already trying to plan ahead for our next adventure back here!

Stayed here for one night mid-week and boy was it an amazing one. I did the dinner with the giraffes, the bottle feeding for the baby kangaroo, the swim/play with the otters and took a tour of the ranch. I stayed in the kangaroo cabin. Everything was absolutely wonderful. I can’t recommend this ranch enough.
