Snorkel with Sharks at Corpus Christi State Aquarium

Highly recommend everyone check out this awesome place! Super fun and very educational. The splash pad was perfect for cooling down and letting loose with my kiddos. We loved our lunch at the covered patio tables. The refillable souvenir cups were totally worth it and kept us super hydrated the whole day. We absolutely loved the many drink options. Gift shop prices were a bit high but worth the every penny for the great quality and memorable experience. We got a cool bracelet that allows you to track a Sea Turtles location. Very happy!!!

This is a nice aquarium if you have a few hours to burn. Lots of different species, including otters. There are plenty of parking spots onsite, and they only cost 5 bucks. They will give you a coin to put in the little blue box on the outgoing gate when you buy your tickets. There are also seats on the back of the building with a great view of the aircraft carrier Lexington. While the cost of food was reasonable, I found 4 bucks for a can of soda was a bit high.

The aquarium is such an amazing place. We have been there several times and there is always something special and new to discover. The animals and aquatic life appear well cared for, they are energetic and engaged. Their habitats are meticulously maintained and regularly cleaned. The aquatic tanks are thoughtfully designed and provide private space and hides for the animals to retreat and take a break from the constant prying eyes and little hands banging on the glass walls. The aquarium staff is very friendly and helpful. A few recommendations would be to have more restaurant options, only know of one “cafeteria style” place to eat. If the foot traffic doesn’t support another restaurant, then the addition of a few well placed snack and drink booths would make happier customers who may be willing to spend more money and time at the Aquarium. Also there are long stretches of exhibits and areas without anyplace to sit or relax. The aquarium areas would benefit by adding a few simple benches or seats with backs, if space permits.

A bit pricey but worth it! The aquarium is a good size will take about 2-3 hours to get around. They do offer a dolphin show so be sure to get there early so you can check out the available times. They also offer a 4D theater and they run this every 30 min. All this adds extra time to your visit which is great to make your moneys worth. And last but not least they offer a splash zone outside so make sure to bring some extra clothes and towels for your kiddos.

Fiancé and I went Saturday and hour before closing and the lady at the front desk recommend we come back the next day with 2 to 3+ hours. We decided to come back the next day and so glad we listened! The aquarium is such a walk but there's so much to see from all the exhibits to the shows they offer throughout the day. We missed the sting ray feeding but got to pet them along with some jellyfish and it was so cool! Overall, it's worth the price and I recommend the 2 to 3+ hours to take your time looking around.
