Snorkel with Sharks at Corpus Christi State Aquarium

Love this aquarium! We have visited the past three years for our annual Corpus trip and we look forward to it every year. The price is a little higher than one might expect but with the cost of taking care of the animals and the Wildlife Rescue Center it definitely makes sense! We are members of a local zoo, so we were able to get a discount on two of our tickets. There is so much to do at the aquarium! Our kids are 4 and 7 and they loved the new Ocean Odyssey play area. All of the exhibits are so great and the staff at the touch pools are super knowledgeable. The dolphin show is always a favorite and I definitely recommend getting a seat about 30 minutes before the show. If you are visiting during the summer with kids, it is so worth the price because you can enjoy the HEB splash park. Overall I highly recommend the Texas State Aquarium!

Great aquarium! Multi levels and different areas. We enjoyed the stingrays and jellyfish. The dolphin show was great too. You literally need the whole day there. We had four hours and it didn’t feel like enough time. Bathrooms are decently clean and there is a good variety of drinks, alcohol, and even snow cones. One of my favorites was the yellow smiling eel!

the staff we encountered were so great and patient with all the kids in our group (ages 3-12). the focus and passion on conservation, education and rescue was front and center, which i greatly appreciated. we ended up going the sunday before school started (for us) spent most of the day there and never once felt overwhelmed by the crowd. everything -even the splash pad!- was remarkably clean and well maintained. food options vary depending on where you are. you can expect mostly snack style food (nachos, chopsy, pretzels, ect.) but there is also a small bistro style cafe on the ground level near the otter enclosure that has sandwiches and grain bowls.

Us and the grand kids had a great time here. It's been 2 our 3 years since we've been here. The kids really enjoyed it and the water splash area. Our only major disappointment was that they removed the 4D Theater. That was the thing the kids and us adults were most looking forward to seeing again and it was no more.

Ms. Tamara was AMAZING! We were so lucky to have her for all 5 presentations. The aquarium is fortunate to have a rockstar like her who truly cares about animals and guests. We were a little disappointed that the 4D theater is no longer available. Also, get tickets in advance because you can’t buy it in person.
