Become an Astronaut at Space Center Houston

Very cool place to visit. Lots of nice displays inside to see, several tram tours. We did the Saturn V (Roxket Garden tram), it was great. Lines were long for some things. The games are fun and move pretty quickly. Lots of staff around if you have questions. The only bad thing is food is insanely priced. A bottle of Gatorade is $5, a ham and cheese kids sandwich is white bread, slice of ham and slice of cheese is $7. A salad was $14. We skipped eating there after paying $160 for 4 people for general admission and another 10.99 for parking, we went elsewhere for lunch. Awesome place to visit and learn but is busy and lots of waiting for the next event to start. We spent about 4 hours and saw the museum part and 1 tram tour, and (1) 20 minutes presentation on trading to be an astronaut. Worth it but plan accordingly. My kid loved the space shuttle and 747 walk throughs.

Great place to take the family. Lots of fun things to do and see for the adults and kiddos. There are multiple different shows going on throughout the day. The food court and souvenir shop ste pretty expensive for what you get but the experience that my kiddo had was well worth it.

If you are anywhere near the Houston area, Space Center Houston is an absolute must-visit. Getting up close to actual space hardware and seeing the real-world science behind NASA's missions is an incredible experience. ​The Main Center is easily the standout attraction and where we spent most of our time. It is packed with interactive exhibits covering everything you read or hear about in the news regarding space exploration—from detailed Moon artifacts to upcoming Mars missions. Walking through and seeing real space suits, moon rocks, and spacecraft components makes the science feel tangible and deeply exciting. ​There are 4 different tram rides available, so planning ahead makes a big difference. Two of the tram tours are included with general admission, though one of the free options requires advance scheduling. Make sure to reserve your time slot early. The special Apollo Mission Control Tour is a paid add-on that requires pre-booking. It really feels like a time machine taking you back to the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. A minor heads-up: the re-created presentation relies heavily on period-accurate desktop CRT monitors, which can feel a bit small and strain your eyes if you try to focus closely on the screens, but the historic atmosphere is still remarkable. ​Whether you're a casual fan or a hardcore NASA enthusiast, the sheer amount of history and hands-on science inside the main center makes this well worth the trip. Highly recommended.

This was my 2nd time visiting and I did not do or see any of the same things as I did the first time - so this place has a lot to offer! This time I went on a rainy day so I skipped the tram rides - but if the weather is nice, be sure to catch the trams! This time I watched the presentations and movie - all amazing! The staff are super helpful so be sure to ask lots of questions. A lot of the attractions were confusing - one of the presentations had a video playing in the waiting room and many people thought it WAS the presentation. The line for the movie was marked by a person holding a sign with an arrow saying “this is the end of the line for Moonwalkers.” There were a few things that required extra $ like the simulator and one of the trams but most everything is included in the ticket price. Amazing place and so much great information. If you get the chance: follow the sidewalk outside to walk the solar system to really understand how big it is. Pluto is almost to the road where you enter the parking lot and it co tibies around past the space center!

Vety informative and exciting place! Very clean and maintained. Food is a bit pricey and portions are small. Great place for kids and adults. Discounted Military and veterans tickets available at most military facilities.
