Guided Hikes at Westcave Preserve

Unreal! We planned to visit Hamilton Pool, but it was fully reserved, so we decided to check out Westcave instead. Very, very glad we did!! It’s just down the road from Hamilton Pool. It’s only accessible via a tour and is a 1 mi roundtrip hike. Kid friendly, but does have some slippery spots and lots of steps up/down hill. There is no swimming; it’s basically a short hike to the grotto and enough time to take some pics and take in the scenery. About 2 hrs total. We went after a rainstorm, so the water was a bit more murky. Typically, the water is crystal clear.

Fantastic place to see, the tour guide was very informative. I booked for the first in the morning to avoid hot weather and enjoyed a lot of bird singing.

This place is so beautiful! I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the place and I loved her enthusiasm about keeping the place as wild as possible. I am definitely recommending it to friends and will be back for sure!

We LOVED your time and our guide. Even though it wasn’t peak green it was still beautiful. This is a guided nature walk any age can enjoy. If you can lift your foot 6 inches you can do this hike! Many older and super young patrons were with us and enjoyed at their own pace.

This hike exceeded my expectations! Joe was our guide, and he was super knowledgeable and you can tell he loved leading people. The scenery was beautiful! It’s definitely a must-do in the Texas Hill Country!
