Swim and Relax at Wimberley's Blue Hole Regional Park

My family visited Blue Hole for the first time, and we loved it! It's such a beautiful spot! The water is the perfect temperature where it's refreshing and not too cold. It's also perfect that there's a good size area where the water isn't too deep and you can stand up. Then, further down where the rope swings are, the water is deeper. It's really great for the whole family!

A day well spent! We purchased tickets for both the morning and afternoon sessions, and it was well worth it. We didn't rush to get there first thing in the morning and arrived a little after 10. The close parking fills up fast, so you might have to walk a bit to get down there. If you purchase both sessions, you get to stay in from 1-2, before the afternoon session starts. There were only about 10 people in the water during that time, it was so magical and peaceful! My husband made good use of the chain swing, and I swam around. The morning crowd is definitely more families with younger children, and the afternoon is more adult and teenagers. The whole experience was wonderful!

We went here on our honeymoon and reserved the morning time slot to go swimming in the river. We had such a great time, the water was super clear and nice and cool on a hot Texas day. Definitely recommend going. Make sure to reserve early so you don’t miss out!!

Highly recommend this place for a fun family outing. Water is cold, not as cold as Barton springs but cold enough to give you a chill at first dip. Best way is to take a dunk fast or use the rope to jump in and all is past 🤣 Reservations are required, we booked our spot a month early, please note that alcohol is not allowed. Picnic area is nice with a mix of shade and sunny spots along with camp benches that are reservable. Restrooms are in decent shape and parking is excellent.

PURCHASE TICKETS AHEAD I should have looked at ticketing further but I was coming from Jacob's Well and just looking for somewhere to cool off and OOOBOY I found it!! I got lucky like very very lucky! Someone had a extra ticket so i got in!!! And I am so thankful i did. I could not crow about this place anymore then I will here. 1 it is beautiful and picturesque on a level for Instagram or national magazines. The trees are huge and ancient standing as guardians. The water is clear and shining. Their are fish, blue gill and turtles aplenty. 4/5 areas to enter the water 2 shallow 1 kinda shallow and 2 deep. Plenty of room for the kids and adults. There is a public area to put out your picnic and lay out for some sun. The water us crisp and cool not freezing or warmed. It is absolutely refreshing. I do suggest bringing a float of some kind. So you can just relax kick back and enjoy this haven. The grounds are very well kept and the banks tended to. There are 2 ripe swings that are chains so they are well kept and sturdy. People here were polite and friendly. You can also being snorkel and swim goggles for extra adventure. Plenty of parking as well. The best part is they sell limited tickets so it isn't over crowded which I have to admit for TX is AMAZING.
