Scenic Railroad Journey Through Royal Gorge

Well finally off my bucket list the Royal Gorge Train was the best train ride ever with such a beautiful experience. The staff was warm and welcoming along with very friendly. The train its self is just gorgeous inside and outside. As the seats in coach were so comfy and our waitress Jimmie was so attentive, friendly and helpful. The food package is so worth the 35.00 as you get a beverage (for us glass of wine) your choice of lunch( for us their gigantic nachos & the Train sandwich), then a souvenir train glass. Food was excellent (shout out to the kitchen staff), the glass of Reisling tasty and souvenir glass a great ending to such a beautiful memory of my sister & my day together on this great adventure. The history and fantastic view of the gorgeous on the train was just so beautiful and hard to put into words. Our experience on the outside train car was so nice and big shout out to Tony for all the historic information he gave everyone and answered so many questions for us. Even inside the train the staff give us history of specific places on the ride as we reached them on the ride.I highly recommend this train ride for all the fun we had and enjoyed the food, staff, pictures you can buy, the store with all its treasures and did I mention free parking.

We booked the Dome Carr expecting maybe more of a view above, but our view was obscured by window shades and an air-conditioning system. With that being said the outside temperature was in the 60s and I think the inside temperature of the car pretty much matched the outside, which is saying it was damn cold inside. I agree with another reviewer that said one of the things about the train ride as it was slowly going through the Gorge was you were able to go to the open air car and have a much better experience looking around as opposed to being in the dome car. At the price we paid, it came with an option of ordering food and beverage at your seat, which was nice. Once we finished our meal, we went outside and spent most of our time in the open deck car. The service was good, the people were friendly, the place was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our time riding through the canyon.

OMG! This was an amazing experience. I was in amazement the whole trip. Breath taking views. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was amazing. All the grounds were clean and all the staff was amazing and nice. This adventure was worth every penny. Thanks for an amazing experience ❤️🇨🇱

We enjoyed our experience on the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. We elected the glass dome car and were very pleased with this selection. Saw beautiful scenery and had a lovely lunch of a chicken panini, side salad and yummy glass of Brickmason Red Blend wine. Angie, our server, is very personable, attentive and provided excellent service. Our only complaint was when we were offered side salads we were not made aware about an additional upcharge for the salad. Since this is a very expensive experience of more than $400 for 2, this class of train including lunch, the additional change should have been mentioned.

The Royal Gorge Train experience was nice, and we enjoyed the ride overall. One thing to keep in mind is that you don't get to pick your seats, and if you don't end up on the left side of the train, it may be a little disappointing since you won't see much of the river. We chose the Vista Dome and enjoyed it, but looking back, we may have preferred the Deluxe Class since it seemed to offer more of a dining experience. It wasn't anything overly exciting, but we still had a good time, enjoyed the train ride, and had a nice breakfast while taking in the scenery.
