Rejuvenating Hot Springs Soak at The Springs, Idaho City

I love coming here after a long work week or when I have visitors in town. I’ve gone a dozen+ times the past year. Here’s why: Easy access after a scenic drive. There’s no hike in and parking is simple in every season. The water is clean and HOT. Since it’s not a primitive springs situation, the pool area is in pristine condition. The locker room is always clean, and they offer shower amenities. The views from the pool are lovely, and we always see different types of birds. Lobby staff are consistently friendly, warm, and helpful: my mother and I visited today, and she remarked how “sweet” our check-in interaction was. The reservations ensure the place isn’t packed and the entrance fee comes out to a very fair priced hourly rate. Easy recommendation for a gorgeous spot.

This was a great experience to have. We ended up getting a few hours in the pool, and then a private tub with some snacks and drinks. Great atmosphere and very clean.

We absolutely love this place! We’ve been coming here for just over six years now and it never fails to leave us with a last smiling. The private tubs are amazing. The drinks and appetizers are very reasonably priced and the main pool is dialed in. Plenty of chairs for seating around the pool. Whether you like it in the shallow end or slightly deeper, they have it all. Love ‘kid-free’ Fridays! We try to come here at least once a year and always find it a delight. Nothing better than coming during the winter months if you can find an open time. Even if you can’t, it pays to put yourself on the waiting list!! Great locker room amenities and private lockers as well as showers. They do have a sauna, but it’s currently under repair/replacement. Love love love this place!

I give this place 2 stars because its no longer a place for the people. I used to come to this pool a lot when I was a kid where it was accessible by the common folk. Now there is all this gate keeping going on with reservations, limited soak times, and significantly limited capacity. This place used to be an institution for families and people of all walks, now its trying to be some sort of elitist place and only for a select few. I am grateful I could afford it but I know my mother couldn’t afford to bring her family here like she used to do when we spent a week in the Idaho City area every summer. To get closer to what this place used to be (where it was accessible by everyone) I would say that they should extend the soak time slots in the pool and increase the capacity. I would ditch the reservations and make it first come first served since you complain on your own website that people were booking slots and not showing up. OR You could even have half reservation slots and half walk in slots and be better off for it. Or maybe look at what Trinity Hot Springs is doing and do something similar. But I can say I wont be back until I am able to walk in without a reservation. At least with THS I can pay my annual membership and then show up whenever without a reservation and get plenty of soak time at a reasonable price. But next time I up hwy 21 I will just skip this place and go to Kirkham instead, its a $5 day use fee there with no reservation required. Service was excellent and the staff were kind.

The price to go in is a little high, but it's worth it for the view and the music when they have artists playing. They are very accommodating when you arrive. Good customer service. Have drinks and food you can order while you soak. They also have free lemon 🍋/ lime water for you to stay hydrated. The water is a little on the cool side for winter... great for spring/ fall. Downside... when all the people check in for their time slot, they put you all in the same little corner of the lockers.... gets very crowded. Works when you have kind people there but rude people... I've had both. Be kind, share love not hate ❤️
