Utah Crater Hot Spring Soak & Dive: Heber Valley's Thermal Wonder

Coolest little experience here. The water is warm, so even though we got there early in the morning and it was super cold outside, it was perfect inside. You get to swim for maybe an hour or so and have to wear your life jacket. There's a hole at the top where you can float and look up. The water is deep so the snorkeling was okay, it's hard to see. But maybe the diving might be better. I'm definitely coming back to do my diving certificate here with my son. You can start as early as 10 years old.

We reserved a morning slot and showed up a little early, so the opener told us we could walk around the resort area and the top of the crater. This is in a gorgeous part of Utah, with 360 Mountain Views! They provide life vests, snorkel/scuba equipment. Also, there are lockers on site and they will provide a lock. The crater was warm and relaxing, and one of the scuba divers gave everyone in our session some history. It was definitely a nice way to relax on our vacation! After our session, we walked around the resort area again and got some coffee and orange juice at the shop near the hotel check in, and played some table games.

A must if you’re in the area! We were staying an hour away and it was well worth the drive, a beautiful drive! It was $20 for a one hour float. It was absolutely delightful and the couple that runs it were so sweet and informative. Full of minerals with health benefits and unlike most hot springs, no sulfur so no stink! 10/10

So, we just got back from Homestead Crater, and I have to say, it was an amazing experience! 🌋💦 I went with my family, and we had such a blast. The place is just a short, easy drive from Salt Lake City, so it's perfect for a quick getaway. First off, I highly recommend booking online in advance. They stick to a schedule, so make sure to arrive on time. It’s one of those punctual events. Trust me, you don't want to miss your slot. Pro tip: try to arrive in your swimwear to save some hassle, but don't worry if you can’t because they have a changing area and small lockers where you can stash your stuff. The water is wonderfully warm, and let me tell you, it’s super relaxing. The inside of the crater is even more beautiful than I expected. Seriously, it looks just like all those videos and pictures you might have seen online—if not better! The whole experience feels a bit surreal, like you’re in another world. We spent a good amount of time just floating and taking it all in. It’s a unique spot, and it's definitely worth both your time and money. Everyone—from my kids to the grandparents—had an awesome time. If you’re anywhere near the area, don’t miss out on this treasure. It’s one of those places that everyone in the family can enjoy. This was really neat. I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but it is so cool. The crater is a natural geologic formation. There is a hit spring that feeds the pool inside the crater. The pool is 65 ft deep and love jackets are provided and required. You need to arrive shortly before your scheduled time because they only allow those who have reservations in. You get to float or soak for about an hour. There are 3 small changing rooms and a set of small lockers (free) to hold your stuff. You can take pictures etc but don't drop your phone! There is a T shaped dock and then two small sunken/step down corral type things with a bench around the square and a floor to stand on. This is great for folks who are nervous about floating in the deep water. They only allow 20-25 people in each hour so it doesn't get too crowded.
