For fit people this is an easy hike. Well worth it! It's more of a walk in the forest, along a stream, view at the end was spectacular! Can't swim in it, water is too mirky, but got superb photos! Saw a bear, elk, deer, a blue jay... Lots of lush vegetation.

Unbelievable experience. Hiked this trail to Avalanche Lake in October 2021. It was a steady rain the entire hike. Didn’t see more than 4 or 5 people the whole hike. It was stunningly beautiful to witness the raging water in the river and waterfalls and the rain on the lake. I would absolutely recommend this hike. Moderate in length and difficulty with a huge reward. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever experienced.

Also, remember to bring bear spray, as Glacier National Park is home to both black and grizzly bears. This hike is truly a must-see for anyone exploring Glacier National Park!

Great hike with views along a stream and then yo a glacial lake. We extended the hike by going to the other end. I recommend going early to secure parking. Be prepared for some mud in the spring.
