Description

Your trip begins quickly in the Class IV boulder slalom of Rock Garden Rapid. The next four miles bring an onslaught of technical, intricate Class IV+ rapids with large hydraulics and immense boulders. Soon you'll reach Class IV+ Clavey Falls, a legendary rapid due to its sheer drop and intimidating hydraulics. After Clavey, the water mellows to an enjoyable Class II-III level, giving you an opportunity to look beyond the whitewater in front of you and take in the grace and beauty of the Tuolumne canyon. We'll stop for a delicious, well-earned riverside lunch on a relaxing beach. Back on the water, soon you'll be crashing and careening through more Class IV whitewater. Just when you're getting tired, we'll pull into take-out.

We ran the North Fork of the American in May 2024. It was a well organized trip with knowledgable and experienced guides. From start to finish we felt well-prepared and ready for the exciting trip. We were given courtesy wetsuits and splash guards which was a nice aspect of our booking. Prior to starting the trip we also participated in a safety instruction and swimming drill in case we fell out in any of the rapids. Going without wetsuits would have been extremely cold if you took a swim. The canyon views were beautiful and the water was crystal clear. Scott, the owner, was our guide and his passion for rafting made the trip that much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend All-Outdoors to anyone looking for an experienced outfitter dedicated to their guests. Looking forward to the next river trip already.

Our extended family did a 2 day rafting trip with All-Outdoors and it was terrific! All of the staff are super friendly, professional and fun. Big shout out to Reese and Fred who were our guides. They handled the rapids perfectly even when us “paddlers” did not. The 2 includes camping overnight and Reese and Fred prepared an awesome dinner, appetizers and campfire brownies. Top notch! Breakfast was equally as good. We loved our rafting trip and recommend without reservation.

Family of 3 with and 11 year old girl. We did south fork lower gorge. Our guides River and Violet were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience start to finish. Highly recommend.

We did the Tom Sawyer Float (South Fork Easy Section) with our 7 year old and it was a blast! The guides were all very engaging, helpful and fun. The water squirt guns were a big hit and it was the perfect way to spend a hot summer day. Highly recommend!

What can I say, they did a great job! We were on the raft with a bunch of guides in training, but everyone was very professional. I meant to write this review a year ago when we went on the trip, but forgot to and the guide's name, but she was incredible. My daughter loves bunnies, so the guide was giving all the rapids (rabbits) bunny names. Dancing carrots, bunny hop, etc. My daughter loved it! I am an experienced white water paddler (kayak). The lower American fork is tame, but for the kid, it was perfect and there were some rapids when we ran it at high water. Not boring, and perfect for a ten year old.
