Itinerary

Start: Park at the Paradise Jackson Visitor Center.
Trailhead: Begin the hike at the Skyline Trail behind Paradise Inn.
Hike: Follow the trail 0.2 miles into the woods, then join the Skyline Trail heading northeast.
Viewpoint: Continue 0.2 miles to the Myrtle Falls Viewpoint.
Return: Retrace your steps back to Paradise Inn.

A short hike to the falls, but make sure there isn't too much snow. The viewpoint for Myrtle Falls was closed during my visit due to the amount of snow, but the area still offered an amazing view. Highly recommend during your visit in the park.

It was busy, pretty crowded. I definitely prefer the reflection lake hikes more, way less crowded and more nature, but the Mertle Falls one was easier I believe. Wide paved path for a lot of it and not too bad of an incline. Benches to stop & break a long the way. We did see a small black bear on our way in from the gate.

Myrtle Falls is one of my favorite waterfalls around Paradise. So easy to get to and the views are gorgeous, especially on a clear day with Mt. Rainier right behind it. I’m lucky to live not too far away and I’m an elopement photographer, so I’ve seen this place in pretty much every kind of weather. Sunny, rainy, foggy, even snowy… always beautiful. Even when the mountain is completely hiding in the clouds. July–September gets BUSY though. Come as early as you can (sunrise is my favorite) or closer to sunset. Sunrise light is so beautiful, way fewer people around, and you’ll see so much wildlife. Deer, marmots, chipmunks, and sometimes even black bears. And PLEASE stay on the trails!!! This is so important. I know some photos, especially professional ones, can make it look like people are standing right in the middle of the wildflowers. They’re not! It’s all about angles and perspective. Please follow Leave No Trace and stay on the trail at all times!!! Those meadows are incredibly fragile. Let’s keep this place beautiful for everyone who comes after us.

What a Magical place ✨✨✨ I got here on a cloudy and foggy day and the experience was extraordinary. The fog made everything dreamy. It was especially quiet with only birds chirping and deer walking nearby. The Mountain View was under a vail and such an invitation to come back to see whats behind it. I got drip coffee at the Paradise Inn coffee shop and went for an easy walk to the falls. Cozy experience. The road is paved and is clearly marked. There is a set of pretty steep stairs to get to this view. Yet, if you walk further, you get to the bridge above this spot and it has gorgeous view of its own without any stairs.

Breathtaking. I’ve been to this location in various types of weather. From an overcast sky, where it was raining and you couldn’t see Mount Rainier at all. Still beautiful. The air is so pure and fresh you never wanna leave. I recently went just a few days ago in July and it was a blue sky with a really hot sun and nice cool air coming off the mountain. Absolutely worth the drive.
