Went here for our 11 year wedding anniversary. It was nice to escape and go out to the wilderness, even not having service was nice because it limited distractions.
The Bear cabin was cozy, I love the cedar smell and the rustic touches. The TV has been updated from the small 90s box TV show in the photos online. I wish the deck was covered like the other cabins and my husband wishes there was a bathroom door. The hot tub was very much not clean and it was pretty gross once we realized we were sitting in other people's gunk. The deck is also super slippery when wet and some tread tape would go a long way to making it safer since it's not covered. I fractured my ankle back in September so I was very nervous about stepping wrong and slipping. Water pressure in the shower was meh, not the worst I've had but not awesome; no way to turn off one shower head or the other to improve the flow either, so the one mostly poured instead of spraying. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the linens were very nice. Getting the temperature just right took some learning.
There was only one restaurant open within miles (The Copper Creek Inn) and it was pretty good for what it is. The cabin kitchenette was well stocked with dishes, a microwave, and a mini fridge/freezer.
We wanted to get massages, but there is no longer a spa on site and only a single massage therapist for the whole town (no couples massages) and she was booked up for the day we wanted, but we felt a romantic getaway would be less romantic spending hours alternating waiting for the other person to get a massage so we changed plans.
Overall the place was cozy, quaint, and a nice getaway. For the price, a clean hot tub for each guest stay seems pretty reasonable. I think we'll try a different cabin next time, hopefully the Heron.
