    Went up the week after the vandalism to see for myself what had been done to this incredible Lookout that had been on my bucket list for years. This was one where I was goal-oriented and forgot my adage regarding. Enjoy the journey. It was the journey on this one that I will remember. Loved everything about this Trail through old woodland growth with occasional peak views until you get up to the ridge just next to the lookout tower and you feel like all of a sudden you can touch Mount Rainier right next door. Loved this hike, loved the views, highly recommend it

    The trail to High Rock Lookout is CLOSED from July 7 - Sep 15, 2025 while volunteers repair the foundation and restore and return the lookout structure. The Gifford Pinchot National Forest issued the area closure and no one is allowed on the trail or at the top during this time except the workers. Looking forward to seeing it in the fall!

    The trail might seem kinda long, but the payoff with the view you get is absolutely worth it. Pictures do not do it justice. If you have the chance, don't think about it, just go do it. You will NOT be disappointed. The drive there is on old logging roads so be careful if your car is low to the ground. If you can, I highly suggest going up early to watch the sun rise!
