Description

Marymere Falls is one of the most accessible and beloved waterfalls in Olympic National Park, offering a serene 1.8-mile roundtrip hike through breathtaking old-growth forests. The trail starts near Lake Crescent at the Storm King Ranger Station, following a well-maintained path through towering conifers and lush ferns.

After about half a mile, hikers reach a junction—staying left leads upstream under a verdant canopy of moss-covered trees. Soon, the trail crosses Barnes Creek and Falls Creek via picturesque wooden bridges before ascending 200 feet into a mossy ravine. At the top, two viewpoints showcase the dramatic 90-foot Marymere Falls as it cascades through a narrow cliffside.

For those looking to extend their hike, a detour to the nearby Moments in Time Trail offers additional scenic views of Lake Crescent. The trail is easy to moderate, making it a great choice for families and casual hiker.

If you want to experience the absolute magic of the Pacific Northwest, this trail is a must. The hike takes you through an enchanting forest filled with massive moss-covered old-growth trees, over beautiful log bridges crossing rushing rivers, and ends at the spectacular Marymere Falls. Beyond the breathtaking scenery, the area is teeming with wildlife. We saw vibrant mallard ducks, friendly robins, and read about the incredible coho salmon that leap up the local cascades. Crystal-clear water, lush greenery, and fresh mountain air. Truly an unforgettable experience!

Beautiful, lush, green walking trail. Short stroll through the woods to reach the falls. Bit of a climb up some well constructed stairs to reach the viewing area for the falls. Perfect for those able to climb and looking for a 40 min walk.

Nice easy hike to do with the family. A short 1/2 mile or so over level ground, before crossing a steel bridge before coming to a small wooden bridge over the falls runoff. After this there is a set of steps heading up (and at the junction a small sign saying go left!) Which takes you initially to a platform at the bottom of the falls and a fes steps later to a platform 3/4 the way up. Great views and fun.

Great trail, we'll marked. Mostly flat through the trail till you get close to the waterfall, then you have some steep stairs to climb. But we'll worth the time out. When we went it was raining pretty hard and the trail had alot of puddles so wear boots to keep your feet dry if you go when raining. Beautiful area.
