Visitors can explore the two main waterfalls, Koosah Falls and Sahalie Falls, via a 2.6-mile loop trail or by driving to each separately and taking a short walk from the parking areas. These waterfalls offer spectacular views of rushing cascades surrounded by lush green forests.

For those looking for a more unique sight, Tamolitch Falls, also known as Blue Pool, is a must-see. The 4.5-mile round-trip hike leads to an incredibly clear, vibrant blue pool formed by underground lava rock filtration. The striking color of the water is due to its frigid temperature (37°F / 3°C), which prevents the growth of microorganisms.

Itinerary

This hike is definately a great one. It's 2.1 miles from the parking lot to the pool. It's not flat but it doesnt have any steep or difficult areas. A simple walk (wear good walking/hiking shoes or risk twisted ankles) the pool is definately a beautiful pool of water and seeing that the river starts from this small pool is amazing. It definately no small river. Can't wait to hike this one again. Check out the phone booth in last Pic. Almost ss amazing as the blue pool.

Definitely worth the hike to Blue Pool it was so beautiful! It is good to note there is about a 45 min-1hr hike from parking lot to the blue pool and even further if you want to get closer to the bottom. I would wear hiking shoes not sandals because the terrain is really rocky and there is slight elevation at times. The hike there is so beautiful with moss covered trees and the stream flowing. Definitely worth the trip!

Truly incredible! Worth every second of the hike up. Took us about an hour there and an hour back. It was an interesting and beautiful hike as well. Great spot to snack and relax once you reach the pool.

Incredible hike with an amazing view at the end. It's not too difficult, maybe the part where you go down from the top viewpoint can be challenging for some. For reference, I did it with my 3 year old and I had Her on my shoulders the whole hike, and at the descent I had to hold Her on my side.

What a gem and picturesque trail leading to the blue pool (especially when you failed to secure hiking permits to other popular hikes in the summer!). Every step and turn you take to get to the pools, filled with such great scenery. Keep your eyes peeled to find your way down to the pools; especially when you hit the majestic viewpoint looking down at the pools. (Seriously made me cringe seeing someone jump off a high cliff into the cold water.) Update: Hiked on 6/22/26 and found out that someone died in the pools on 6/26/26. Heartbreaking and I hope people considering swimming or diving - will read the info at trailhead about the dangers of this pool - it’s really cold. Shout out to Buck’s Sanitary for keeping those Portapotties smelling ok and useable. I don’t like using them but needed to! A great hike and can’t beat the drive to and from here with awesome stops to waterfalls, lakes and lookouts!
