Luxury Cave Glamping at The Summit at Big Bend

We stayed one night in a star gazing dome and it did not disappoint! The stars were amazing that night. The bed was extremely comfortable, AC worked well, plenty of electrical outlets. Everything was cozy and nice. One fair warning for visitors. We rode motorcycles there. The long road leading up was decent until it came a light rain. When we returned after supper part of the road was so slick we dropped our bikes a few times. So just keep that in mind if traveling by bikes.

We just got back from spending 3 nights with our 2 small children. We absolutely loved the dome and had a blast! The bathhouse was very clean and nice. The kids loved taking showers outside rather than using the indoor ones. I emailed several questions before our trips and each time got a very helpful and kind response quickly even though it late at night. The only thing that would make these better if there was more shelving space or storage. Definitely will recommend to everyone!

Booked a stargazing dome for a couple nights during our Big Bend trip and this place was AMAZING! Obviously the setting speaks for itself with stunning desert/Big Bend and stargazing views. The domes were clean and stylish. The bed/bedding was super comfortable. Bathrooms are communal but clean, with running water, and located close enough to domes that it isn't a trek outside. Having a sink and fridge in the dome was convenient and the AC worked great! We wished we had stayed at the Summit for our entire time at Big Bend :)

We enjoyed our stay. The view was beautiful. It was about 103 degrees when we arrived, but our dome was nice and cool for us. They also included a nice fan. There were plenty of outlets. The fridge was a nice size for a mini fridge. I would have appreciated more light in the dome at night. Also, our dome was not carpeted like we anticipated from the pictures. That wasn’t a problem for us, I just mention it in case it’s helpful for someone else. The bathrooms/showers were nice and clean. There was soap, shampoo, and conditioner for use in the shower (my favorite scent!). We liked the idea of fire pit, but it was way too windy to attempt to use. Our dome had two Adirondack-type chairs instead of a couch. Electricity only went out for a while on the first evening (maybe a half hour). The WiFi worked well during our stay.

What an experience! The Summit at Big Bend is top notch! Phenomenal customer service and the lodging exceeded my expectations! I had the privilege to stay in one of the domes and in Crystal Cave. AMAZING!! I would highly encourage anyone who wants to stay here to do it! You won’t be disappointed! The only thing I wish I could change was the 10am checkout time. Especially if you stay more than one night and could use the extra sleep in time after a day of hiking Big Bend. For the price of the accommodations, I don’t think that’s an unreasonable ask. Overall, I would and will definitely stay again!!
