Unforgettable stay with breathtaking views and top-notch comfort! Searching the web for a place to stay near Big Bend, we stumbled upon The Summit at Big Bend and what an amazing property it is! Our group stayed in both Casa Grande and Casa Del Sol, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Casa Grande is huge, beautifully appointed, and offers incredible, sweeping views. It is remarkably quiet and peaceful up there. The bedrooms are spacious, and the king-sized beds were super comfortable after long days of exploring. We loved the open layout, the kitchen, dining room, living room, and parlor flow together seamlessly while still giving each area its own distinct space. The outdoor space is just as impressive. There is plenty of seating, including a covered outdoor dining area, comfy Adirondack chairs, and a couple of hammocks perfect for relaxing. Having both a chiminea and a fire pit with plenty of wood provided was a fantastic touch for our evenings. Plus, the location of the house feels nicely secluded from the nearby domes, giving you complete privacy. One important tip for future travelers: While the website states that 4WD or 4x4 isn't strictly necessary, I would strongly suggest coming in a 4WD or high-clearance 4x4 vehicle, especially if you plan to drive all the way up to the summit. Believe me, you’ll want to make that drive because the view from the top is absolutely spectacular! We all had an incredible time and truly cannot wait to go back. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Summit for our home base to Big Bend National Park. It was a great place to recharge and relax on the porch under the stars. Definitely recommend the super dome with private bath if you can afford it. If not the shared kitchen and bath area was well kept and very useful for cooking meals. Very quiet and peaceful. The 360 degree view from the summit was worth the effort and the hammocks and picnic table was a nice surprise. Everything was exactly as pictured on the website and communications via text was great. Very attentive and checked in multiple times to make sure things were to our satisfaction. Definitely recommend if headed to big bend area. They have hikes on the property too so you could make a great vacation even if you never left the property.

Everything about this place exceeded expectations. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Showers and restrooms were kept very clean, outdoor shower was great. Dome was very clean and very cool compared to the summer heat. The summit was great and kept clean of trash. There are several trails on the property, along with old mine shafts that can be explored. Free firewood available for the fire pits. Was very quiet all week. Employees were out every morning. Our keurig didn’t work and they brought a new one out within about an hour of me texting them about it. Didn’t use the outdoor kitchen but we checked it out and it seemed very nice.

We had the best time here at The Summit and our family can’t wait to come back. We had our reservations about using the community bathhouse but even that was awesome. Everything was clean and well kept. There is no A/C but it really didn’t bother us like I thought it would because the temperature out here is wonderful and we came at the beginning of July (we are used to humidity and there is none here! You can breathe!!) We just got the basic stardome, not the deluxe version and I’ll probably choose this each time. Cost effective and literally has everything you need. There are several outlets inside, the A/C blows cold and keeps the dome comfortable, they also provide a fan, a keurig complete with pods, sugar and cups, there are towels, fresh linens a mini fridge and a sink. There is not a microwave within the dome but there is an outdoor kitchen that you can also use that has a grill, microwave and games. The view is truly breathtaking, especially the stars at night. Each unit comes with a firepit and they even provide firewood/matches and fire starter. Long review, but we truly enjoyed our time here. We were a bit disappointed not being able to find the abandoned mine close by and our WiFi was sketchy, but that was no deal breaker for us needing to unplug. We can’t wait to come back!

We just returned from a 3 night stay at The Summit at Big Bend. We stayed in the luxury dome and enjoyed a wonderful stay! The domes are spacious, a/c was powerful and as other reviews noted, it was very clean, the kitchen was very well appointed and the bathroom in the dome was fantastic. I have to comment on plants in the domes, they are in the unit as they are in the photos and I have to say, it was a really beautiful feature of the room. You are out in a very hot desert and to see greenery like that in your dome felt truly luxurious. Stargazing was spectacular at night. We would definitely come back! Thank you so much!
