Incredible stay! The lodging had all amenities and truly felt like a luxury glamping experience. The property was also very peaceful and secluded and had beautiful surroundings. We even saw a herd of sheep! The food was also delicious and the main reception area was really nice. Overall, if you want to unplug and have a stay outside of the city but still enjoy the finer parts of life, backland is 1 of 1! Highly recommend.

The communication from this resort is incredible. They sent the voice directions - which you do need! Whilst staying at the resort the staff keep in touch and assist. The location is stunning. It is peaceful and beautiful. There is no noise but nature. The sky is full of stars The “tents” are well designed. They are spacious with the good amenities. The showers worked extremely well. The skylights at night added an incredible dimension. We slept so well. You do need to make appointments for the restaurant and boxed lunches. The food portions were huge and delicious. There are lots of on site things to do in the evening and everyone was so relaxed and chilled. The suggested tour company was incredible as well. Finally the staff went beyond what you would expect. They were courteous, helpful and friendly If you want a get away with a difference - and need to recharge, catch up - would highly recommend this resort

Backland was amazing. We are on a 10 day road trip and this was our kids’ favorite place to stay. They loved making friends with the other kids there, kayaking, fishing, playing volleyball, the endless s’mores, board games! It’s small and remote so the kids were safe to roam around. The restaurant was the best food we’ve had this whole trip and the breakfast was also awesome. We loved the crepes! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves to spend time outside and especially families! Staff was amazing also!

We had the absolute best experience at Backland! From the beautifully appointed tents and stunning grounds to the wonderful service staff and outstanding meals, everything was top-notch. The highlight? Lying under a sky absolutely full of stars — truly magical. The food was wonderful, the vibe was perfect, and we left feeling completely refreshed. Highly recommend Backlands for anyone wanting a luxurious, unforgettable glamping getaway in Arizona. We’ll be back!

One of the most magical stays I've ever had at any lodging property. Directions to get there were easy to follow, and once there it felt like being in another world – stunning dark skies with more stars than I've ever seen in my life. Great small touches and amenities throughout – from slippers to a nice selection of board games to take back to the room to a telescope set up at night to kayaks for use on the small pond. Food was great. Tabitha was the best server I've ever had in my life. We were only going to do dinner one night in the restaurant, and actually ended up driving back from the Grand Canyon the next night to eat again just to have her as our server again. Friendly, knowledgable, and fun. Can't rave enough about her. All around this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and a great home base if you're doing the Grand Canyon (it took us about an hour and a half to get there), or just want to get off the grid for a little while. They're new, and I can only imagine they're going to keep improving – next time we'll definitely try to get one of the hot tub rooms, which seem to book up well in advance (naturally).
