Murray Canyon Horseback Riding Tour

We loved Smoke Tree Stables! It was a great addition to our Palm Springs trip. A wonderful family owned and operated ranch. Everyone was so friendly and down to earth. The ride was beautiful and the horses were very gentle and careful navigating through the canyon trails. I would highly recommend Smoke Tree Stables’ ride through Murray Canyon to anyone visiting Palm Springs and looking a little adventure 🙂

Amazing ride. Everything was really well organised, and the whole experience felt smooth from start to finish. The guides were calm and gave helpful advice along the way, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the ride. It was an incredible morning, and the length of the ride was just right - not too long, not too short.

I’ve been to Palm Springs MANY times and only recently discovered Smoke Tree Stables and I’m SO happy I did! By no means do I know how to ride a horse. I had actually never been on one until this ride. All of the staff immediately makes sure you feel comfortable and keeps you confinement during your ride. All the horses are gentle for both novice and experienced riders. They take you on a stunning hike through the canyon filled with palm trees, running water and mountainous landscapes. Besides the beautiful scenery, you have a pal (your horse) to enjoy the experience with. Definitely a therapeutic hour and a half long adventure. Will I be back? 100%

$185 per person but special and worth it. Stunning ride through Murray Canyon. 4 mile total, 2 out and 2 back along same trail. Very easy walking pace and multiple water crossings made it fun. Horses were great. Ask questions of the guides and they are happy to educate. Horses get trailered out to Indian Canyon parking lot and follow in your car and then get on the designated horse. Friendly staff/management. Highly recommend.

On Feb 24, my husband and I started our morning off perfectly enjoying a fabulous trail ride with Casey as our guide. We chose to do a private ride - highly recommend - Casey was such a delight, friendly, funny, knowledgeable! We had incredible landscape views no matter where the trail led. Our entire experience with STS was easy and quite wonderful. Stacy was also a delight, returning my initial call to book, on her day off. The entire crew at STS were so helpful and engaging. Our horses Frankie and Diego were gentle souls and followed the lead quite well. Thank you STS for helping us create another beautiful memory in this life’s journey!
