Dolphin and Whale watching trip in San Diego

We had an amazing whale watching trip with Caitlin. She found a pod of 15 gray whales! We even saw three breaches! Caitlin was fun, professional and very knowledgeable. It was obvious that she loves her job and it made for a great experience. I highly recommend Gone Whale Watching.

I highly recommend Gone Whale Watching. If I could give them an infinite amount of stars I would. Hands down the best whale watching experience you can ask for in San Diego. Everyone from the Captains to the Deckhands are so kind and knowledgeable. It is clear that they truly have a passion for what they do. I have been on several trips with them and can’t imagine going with a different company. I am so grateful for them and I admire the respect that they have for the ocean/ marine life.

We had the most incredible private 6-person sunset whale watching tour with Captain Caitlyn! From start to finish, she was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely passionate about marine life. You could tell she truly loves what she does, and it made the entire experience even more special. Our group got to see gray whales (including a mom and calf!) and playful dolphins, and Captain Caitlyn shared so much interesting information along the way. She struck the perfect balance between education and letting us soak in the magic of the moment. What meant the most to me personally was how comfortable she made everyone feel. My mom is usually very nervous on boats, but Captain Caitlyn’s calm, confident presence completely put her at ease and she ended up loving the trip! It was also so empowering and fun to be on a power boat run by an all-women crew. The whole experience felt safe, exciting, and unforgettable. I would absolutely book with Captain Caitlyn again and recommend this tour to anyone looking for an amazing, up-close ocean adventure.

We had an absolutely amazing time on our whale watching tour with Captain Michael! Just when we thought our trip was wrapping up, we came across a pod of about 15 gray whales. It was breathtaking! Captain Michael didn't hesitate to extend our time so we could fully enjoy the moment, and we're so grateful he did. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for what he does made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Disappointed in the boat we got vs the boat that was advertised. Instead of the small white Fishing/Dexter type Boat, we got a Pontoon Touristy type boat. I distinctively picked this tour for the boat, and ended up getting something much bigger. Besides that aspect, we were very fortunate to get to see 3 Whales, a big pod of Dolphins, and a couple Seals. The only advice I would give, is for the Captain to not drive the boat directly into the Dolphins, and instead drive alongside of them to not disrupt their swimming pattern. Super grateful for all the sightings, and the boat was clean, and comfortable. 4 Stars!
