Coastline Rejuvenation at The Spa at Terranae

We absolutely love Terranea! The resort is beautiful, the rooms are impeccably appointed, and the service is consistently exceptional. We’ve visited several times over the past few years, and every stay has been memorable because the staff always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. This visit, we had the pleasure of staying in the Shearwater Suite, and it was absolutely stunning. Waking up to the breathtaking ocean views each morning was unforgettable. Our family’s favorite restaurant is Bashi—our kids ask to go back every trip! The lobster fried rice and sushi are outstanding and never disappoint. The spa was incredibly relaxing, and our cabana server was friendly, attentive, and worked so hard to make our day perfect. We also enjoy playing a round of golf (even if we’re not very good!); the course offers some of the most spectacular coastal views you’ll find anywhere. Every time we leave Terranea, we feel pampered, relaxed, and genuinely appreciated. It’s one of our favorite places to escape, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful weekend celebrating a birthday at Terranea! The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, the staff went above and beyond, and our room was even better than expected. It was incredibly spacious, perfect for four of us to stay comfortably and get ready together. One of my favorite touches was the complimentary transportation around the property. It made getting around so easy, and Patrick was an amazing driver who made every ride enjoyable. We also spent the day at the Food & Wine Festival, which featured an incredible variety of food and drinks. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making it such a memorable experience. A special shoutout to Ralph for the exceptional hospitality. You truly made our stay unforgettable. We already can’t wait for our next visit!

There are luxury resorts, and then there is Terranea—a place that truly understands the art of quiet luxury. I had the pleasure of visiting over the Summer Solstice, and I honestly couldn't have chosen a more magical time. The sunsets over the Pacific were absolutely spectacular, painting the sky in colors that seemed to change by the minute. Waking up to those ocean views from my room was equally unforgettable. The spa is, without question, one of the finest in Southern California. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to create a sense of peace and renewal, making it easy to leave the outside world behind for a while. Dining was another highlight. Dinner at Nelson's offered delicious coastal cuisine in a relaxed setting perched above the ocean, while Catalina Kitchen was equally impressive with exceptional food, beautiful presentation, and impeccable service. In fact, the service throughout the entire resort was flawless. Every staff member I encountered was warm, genuine, and seemed to take great pride in creating memorable experiences for their guests. Terranea has a way of making you feel as though you've traveled much farther than Southern California. It's peaceful, refined, and effortlessly elegant—a destination where luxury is felt rather than announced. I left feeling rested, inspired, and already looking forward to my next visit.

The resort is beautiful but the guest experience and service was not good. I signed up for the spa package where you receive a $300 daily credit to use the spa services. I called 6 times to try to speak to someone at the spa and was never able to speak to anyone. Even the concierge called and left a mesaage and they could not get a hold of anyone. In addition at check out I had to review my hotel folio because they did not give me the spa credits. The spa was also very noisy! A week later they charged my account an additional $1000 by mistake. To pay a premium price you should receive a premium experience and unfortunately, that was not the case. Room service took 90 min to deliver my food. Unfortunately that was my last time ever staying at Terrenea. My biggest advice to all guest: make sure you dont stay there on a crowded weekend and tripple check your hotel folio upon check out. Huge opportunity for the Terrenea management team to work on the guest experience and making sure the premium price gives the guest a premium experience. I would recommend staying at the Ojai Valley Inn. They have impeccable service!

Today is the final day of our stay at Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, California, and my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed a four-day staycation built around a corporate meeting. The experience has been nothing short of fabulous. The staff throughout the resort are exceptional—welcoming, hospitable, friendly, and genuinely attentive. When we arrived, Daileah guided us through the check-in process and did a wonderful job introducing us to the resort and its many amenities. For a casual meal with an incredible ocean view, I highly recommend Nelson’s. Despite being extremely busy, the staff were remarkably efficient, and the bar team was especially attentive and engaging. Nelson’s is just one of more than a dozen dining options across the property. We also enjoyed dinner at mar’sel, where we sat on the patio overlooking the ocean and experienced first-class food and service. At the spa, Chelse took wonderful care of us. The spa is a true oasis, complete with its own private pool. Our corporate gathering was a small board meeting, and the meeting room, breakfast service, and adjoining patio were absolutely perfect. As I write this review from our patio, I am watching a huge pod of dolphins breaching the surface of the ocean—and I have the video to prove it! Terranea is the perfect escape for both business and pleasure. We will definitely be back, and next time I will be bringing my golf clubs to take on what looks like a beautiful and challenging par-3 course.
