Channel Islands Kayaking

The channel Islands were absolutely amazing! Island Packers was so helpful with everything and made it easy to navigate. We kayaked through the caves at Santa Cruz Island. Our guide Paco was so kind and knowledgeable. It was one of the best trips I've had. I recommend it to people who are looking for an adventure and to step out of the box. It's a great trip for families to enjoy together as well. The hikes were beautiful. We were able to spend some time on the island before our boat left at four. We did a one hour hike, it's like you're on top of the world. All you see is ocean and Island around you. On our boat trip ride back we saw blue whales and dolphins. A great end to a wonderful day.!!!

A great experience all around. I did the 2.5 hr cave kayak trip and from the moment I arrived at the ferry everything was great!! Kayak guides (Dustin and Steve) were attentive, knowledgeable, flexible and helpful. They pointed out tons of wildlife, gave pointers for staying in the boats, guided us through many caves (safely) and provided island history. They really attended to the feel of the group, and we truly spent 2 1/2 hours or more on the water (aside from the orientation, equipping, launching and off-boarding). ** Be sure to apply sunscreen anywhere exposed, including legs .. my misstep led to legs on fire for a couple days ** The ferry ride was also a whole wildlife spotting experience in and of itself. Dolphins, birds, seals and a humpback whale. Truly a magical day!!! I can’t believe that I haven’t experienced the Channel Islands sooner, and can’t wait to go back.

Our recent kayaking day trip to Santa Cruz Island was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, the trip was impeccably organized, ensuring that every participant felt well-prepared and at ease. The highlight of our adventure was undoubtedly our guide, Artie, who was not only friendly and approachable but also extremely knowledgeable about the area and its natural beauty. The guide's expertise shone through as he provided fascinating insights into the island's history, geology, and wildlife, making the experience educational as well as enjoyable. His professionalism was evident when our kayak capsized. In no time, he swiftly and safely helped us back into our kayak, turning what could have been a mishap into a memorable part of our adventure. Despite this little hiccup, we had a fantastic time paddling through the ocean waters, exploring sea caves, and soaking in the stunning coastal views. The combination of excellent organization, a top-notch guide, and the breathtaking scenery of Santa Cruz Island made this kayaking trip an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an adventurous and well-rounded day out on the water.

We loved our Sea Caves Kayaking! Our guide, Ben, was fabulous. He had a great balance of teaching us how to kayak and challenging us so it was fun and rewarding. Ben was great with our 8 and 10 year olds too. We saw sea lions, a dolphin, different birds, and we loved going in and out of the caves. We would love to come back!!

Signed up for the adventure sea cave kayak tour for my best friend’s birthday and we had the best time. Our guide Minami was so sweet and patient. It was nice that we were only grouped up with one other kayak because it made the experience more personal and enjoyable. Be prepared for a long day. Pack lunches not just snacks because there is nothing to buy on the island and you won’t be back until about 5-6pm. The ferry ride is only about an hour and 15 minutes, but could be two hours+ when you see whales. On the way there we saw dolphins Finn whales and a basking shark. On the way back, we were in the middle of humpback whales, blue whales, and Finn whales. We saw a fox on the island and seals and sea lions while kayaking. The caves were awesome! I’m going to go back with my 10-year-old in a couple of weeks.
