I lived in California for more than 40 years and somehow never discovered Crystal Cove until recently. A friend took me there, and I was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful and unique location. Visitors park in the main parking area and take a shuttle down to the cove, where you’ll find the historic beachfront bungalows and the Beachcomber restaurant. I was told the cottages date back to the 1930s, and they still retain their vintage charm today. The bungalows sit right along the beach, creating a setting that feels like stepping back in time. I had a meal at the Beachcomber restaurant, and the food was very good. One of the best parts of the experience is the incredible ocean view. Sitting right on the beach, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the water while you dine. If you visit, be prepared to do a little walking and wear comfortable shoes. The combination of history, ocean views, beachfront cottages, and good food makes Crystal Cove Beach a truly special destination that I wish I had discovered years ago.

Jaw dropping view from the rooms. Right on the beach. In walking distance from the beachcomber. The man that helped us take our bags to our cottage was very kind and helpful. The inside of the cottage itself was adorable, very media ready. The stove didn’t turn on so don’t bring anything that needs to be cooked. The beds were not very comfortable so bring a comforter or something. Overall amazing experience, I’d love to go again.

Crystal Cove in Newport Beach is one of the most beautiful spots in Southern California. The views are incredible, the beach feels clean and peaceful, and the whole area has that classic coastal California feel without being overdone. It’s perfect for a walk, a beach day, sunset, or just grabbing food nearby and enjoying the scenery. The cliffs, ocean, trails, and historic cottages make it feel different from a typical beach stop. It has character. If you’re in Newport Beach, Crystal Cove is absolutely worth visiting. Easy five stars.

These are just fun to do and so California. They are very hard to book so if you happen to snag one, it's definitely worth a visit. They have a checkin area where you can unload all your stuff as well before moving your car to the parking lot. The cottages have a microwave & a refrigerator with a sink. You can't use the stove/oven, just FYI. I did a 1 nighter in a shared cottage in November. It was cooler weather and we were in the white house upstairs. We had the loft and another party had the side room. We have no issues sharing the common space and it was fun to experience. This April, I scored a 2 night in cottage 4B on the only rainy/gloomy weekend we've had here. Of all the luck. Within 6days of reservation date, you lose 1 night stay so it was sunk cost so I went ahead and did both nights. Easy to check in and checkout. If you are down the hill, you can get a ride on the golf carts which are very nice. 2 cars overnight as well per cabin. Rooms were clean. There is no AC so be prepared depending on your weather. I wanted to leave windows open but most don't have a screen so you get bugs and I was afraid of critters coming in. (Saw it on a youtube from someone. ) Each cottage is different but great to get away. Beautiful location!

Loved my long long walks in the morning down to the beach and along the beach. It's quite a hike. We had to drive to another beach to swim though out in the ocean. The grounds are amazing. Loved the pickleball courts played everyday. Got dinner from The shake shack and brought it back and ate it around the fire ring. Perfect last night
