The San Andreas Fault tour, which was once home to Cahuilla Indians, boasts beautiful slot canyons and unique and beautiful geologic features. An open-air Jeep tour from an Earth shifting perspective. You can also tour a recreated Indian Village and learn about the village from the awesome guides, marvel at the natural palm oasis where crystal-clear water bubbles up year-round, or journey into the spectacular Painted Canyon Village with beautiful lunar like landscape and rainbow-colored minerals towering above you. We were a party of 3 women enjoying a fabulous day off from golfing. Red Jeep Tours was our choice and we were all very impressed with the wealth of knowledge that our tour guide, Butch had and his delivery of the tour. He was welcoming, lots of fun as well as informative. You can't go wrong with this tour!

The tour was a ton of fun! I loved the combo of some hiking and learning about the land. We did the San Andreas fault tour and our tour guide Craig was super nice and informative. Definitely recommend this!

Christopher led us on an amazing tour of the oasis, slot canyons and hills around Indio Hills. He was a cross between David Attenborough and Eddie Izzard - one part botanist/anthropologist/geologist and one part comedic story teller. It was a wonderful way to spend 3 hours.

From start to finish, Red Jeep Tours provided outstanding hospitality to our group. We had 13 jeeps filled for our group and the planning process was clear and smooth. The jeeps arrived in a timely manner and expectations were exceeded. The level of passion and education provided from the guides was what made the trip memorable. It was interesting to discuss as a group over dinner the different details each guide offered. You could tell that they are interested in their subject and do a lot of self study to be informed and entertaining. Several of our corporate group said they would return for a vacation just to do the Red Jeep Tour with their families. The tour was the highest point of our trip.

FAQs

What happens if it rains?

All of our tours take place as scheduled: rain or shine, cloudy or clear, hot or cold. Thus, you should dress appropriately for the weather. The California desert has a lot of micro climates, so most rainfall is short-lived and isolated. In the unlikely event that it does rain, we carry rain ponchos in all our vehicles. At Desert Adventures’ sole discretion, tours may be altered to accommodate changes in weather so as to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

Are there restrooms available on the tour?

There are restrooms available on all tours except Painted Canyon & the Mecca Hills (though the guide can stop on the way to/from the Painted Canyon area, if needed). If you have concerns about the availability of restroom facilities during the tour, please speak to your guide privately before you depart so that he or she can plan bathroom stops as needed.

How many people do your vehicles hold?

Our Jeeps hold seven guests. They can also rent other vehicles to accommodate larger groups.
