Description

Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada offers a compact yet spectacular natural landscape. Begin your visit with the scenic drive along Mouses Tank Road, a 6-mile stretch filled with colorful rock formations and breathtaking views. As you drive, you'll see iconic landmarks like Elephant Rock and the Beehives.
After the drive, set out on the Fire Wave & Seven Wonders Loop. This easy 2.3-mile hike takes you to the famous Fire Wave, a unique rock formation with stunning colors, as well as a pink slot canyon and Crazy Hill. The hike is suitable for all skill levels, offering a mix of easy walking and incredible scenery. You'll also encounter ancient petroglyphs, showcasing the area's rich history.

First time visit. A little bit of everything there. Plenty of photography options and lots of trails and amazing red rock formations everywhere. Word of advice: CARRY PLENTY OF WATER! They have water at the visitors center. Also be advised that depending on the time of year, it gets really hot🔥 there! So plan accordingly and it doesn't hurt to check the weather ahead of time. Also, wear sunscreen and head protection!

I have no words to describe how beautiful this place is. This is a must-see gem in Nevada. From the moment you enter the park, the stunning rock formations and unique geological features take your breath away. The vibrant colours and intricate patterns of the rocks are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. On a hot day, a short trail would be advisable. We missed a few spots because of the heat. The facilities are well maintained and the staff at the visitor centre are friendly and knowledgeable. Drink plenty of water and don’t forget your sunscreen and hat!!

Beautiful park that’s very close to Vegas. Totally worth the drive. I go every time I’m in Vegas. Ive never had an issue with crowds like the national parks and the views here are amazing, especially at the right time of day. It is a great place for younger kids as well, and perfect for introducing them to hiking and/or getting comfortable on rock formations. My son loved seeing the bighorn sheep…we don’t see anything close to that in NYC 😅

Gorgeous park! The colors were unreal and we saw a few big horn sheep too! We did a couple easy out and back hikes on sandy terrain. Expect to have your shoes filled with red sand. Bring water and sunscreen and you'll have a great trip!

Absolutely fantastic area. The name fits perfectly with the area, it can get hot, like really hot! It is important to remember a lot of water and other drinks if you are going on a hike in the area. You can quickly spend many hours in the area. Remember to download maps, as there is not a very good connection in the area.
