Ride Buggies on Oceano Dunes

I had a blast riding in the Can-Am 1000 staff was excellent explained everything I needed to take place. The Can-Am had enough power to go up every doing that I attempted and plenty of speed had an excellent weekend with Denise. She had an excellent time driving it as well, thanks to all that sun buggy

What a great first experience in the Pismo Beach dunes. The people that helped us from the beginning til the end were awesome. Super helpful, and clear with their directions and recommendations. Our large group rented one sun buggy and one RZR, both 4-seaters. We decided to go in the morning before the sun was too hot. In July we had a slight breeze with 70 degree weather, just perfect. Consider bringing your own goggles that are polarized so you can see depth and detail better. Unfortunately, we borrowed their googles that were hammered and made the sand look flat, even tho it was not. With better vision comes better understanding of where it's safe to drive. The one drawback on the RZRs is the age that you need to be to drive, 30 yrs. If you have younger people in your group, consider skipping the RZRs and go with the buggies with the lower center of gravity, and a less likely opportunity to roll it. The only reason for not getting the full 5-star rating was the high price.

Easy rental process, awesome staff, and a GREAT time! Brad did an amazing job and was super nice! We got in the early rental hour and it was 100% worth beating the weekend crowds! Definitely recommend, thank you everyone!

I give this place one star because the staff in the front office were really cool, but our experience was nothing but issues for the whole 5 minutes that it lasted. My wife and I reserved a 2 seat Polaris last minute, we went through the whole process watched the Saftey video and signed paperwork, my card was charged like I was told both rental fee and damage deposit of 1500$, being a Polaris the drive belts are notorious for breaking therefore I added the belt fee waiver of 25$ which wasn’t mentioned to me at the front office until I asked about it. The tram to the beach was great Sonia was amazing! But upon arrival the guys didn’t have our car on site and offered us a 4 seat Polaris which was quote on quote “the best one they have”. The thing was a clapped out 2012 looking model 4 seat Polaris, rear coilover shock appeared damaged which is definitely a Saftey concern and they still urged us to ride it. We agreed and hopped in but the car was stuck in high gear and wouldn’t turn on after multiple tries it finally fired up and would die upon acceleration. Car was terrible and the guys came over I explained my concerns and they hopped in to try it out and we’re having issues also. They then offered us a old dune buggy to which I declined. We received a ride back to the office by Ms. Sonia and the people in the office we’re very strict on their no refund policy, I argued that we didn’t even sit in it for 5 minutes and the car was not operating correctly and it was not the one on the reservation to begin with. They insisted for us to go back out to the beach and they’d have another car ready for us but if that Polaris was “the best one they have” I can only imagine the junk that would be waiting for us. Highly advise to not use this service as for their return policy is ridiculous and should have some exceptions especially when their own equipment isn’t operating as it should, lack of maintenance and lack of Saftey checks on these vehicles lead to big problems especially for un knowledgeable people just looking for some fun on the beach .

What a fun morning to be out on the dunes. We took advantage of 8am, 2 hour rental. There was parking nearby and there were less people on the sand. We checked in one hour early, signed paperwork and watched a safety video. We got helmets and goggles and then boarded a shuttle to our rental. The shuttle was actually fun, there was a mini-river crossing since it was high tide. We could not drive near the beach but the sand dunes were fun and as exciting as you want it to be. It was a 4-seater and we had time to each try out the fun in the sand. The staff were nice and helpful, we had a great experience.
