Very nice aquarium. I enjoyed it. Spent most of the day there. I also took a lot of nice photos. We bought our tickets in advance, but we still had to wait in line, but not that long. The food and gift shop is way overpriced, for what they offer. Especially when it costs so much for admission. I'm sure it makes it harder for large families with children. I did wait until I left to eat at one of the nicer restaurants nearby, and there are plenty of gift shops as well. I would recommend going at least once.

I think I'll have to visit on a non holiday weekend next time. Was extremely crowded, and it took 40 minutes just to get in even though tickets were purchased online. Parking was a mad house. Places were charging anywhere from $20-$100 in lots and garages. Food prices were absolutely insane. $85 for burger w/fries, clam chowder, Mac n cheese, and a fruit cup. Fortunately, there were parking garages near the downtown area and free shuttles to and from the aquarium. We stayed until closing (7pm) and found out that the shuttles only run until 6pm. So we had to walk a mile and a half to the car. This wasn't terrible, got to walk the trail along the water to the parking garage. Plenty so see for sure which would make this place absolutely amazing, lots of information to learn as well. I wouldn't mind going back on an off weekend for a better experience.

One of the best and nicest aquariums we have as a family visited so far. The aquarium is spacious, with great exhibits, wonderful teaching resource for children. You can easily spend hours in the aquarium. Dont miss the outside deck with its magic view of the Monterey bay. Just magical. Its really worth every penny.

Such an awesome experience! The aquarium is literally on the ocean! Beautifully crafted, engaging, interactive exhibits. Great for kids and adults alike. Extremely accommodating for individuals with disabilities and families.

This was a very fun aquarium to visit. It was insanely busy however, as I was visiting during 4th of July weekend. My family and I were able to see every exhibit in about 2 hours. We did not have enough time to stop and catch one of the shows. We all enjoyed the aquarium and hope to visit again in the future!

FAQs

Do I need to buy my tickets in advance?

Yes. Tickets must be purchased on website as there are no in-person ticket sales. You’re welcome to make a reservation on your mobile device, but to ensure a spot is available, please purchase in advance. Arrive any time up until an hour before closing. Aquarium hours vary. Check out the hours and schedule for specific dates and times. No reservations required for members.

What do I need to bring with me to enter the aquarium?

When arriving at the Aquarium, please have a ticket ready for each guest, regardless of age (tickets for visitors ages four and under are free). As long as the QR code can be scanned, it does not matter if the ticket is on a mobile device or printed. Members and their guests will present their digital or physical member cards. Many guests arrive right at opening — you may experience quicker entry if you arrive later in the day.

Is there a time limit on my visit?

No. You are welcome to stay and explore until the aquarium closes for the day. You can also give yourself a hand stamp at the exit for re-entry later that same day.
