Beautiful. They put in an asphalt path after the rains washed out the old one. Some plants have signs so you can learn a little, but you can also just enjoy being in nature. Could spend hours here every week - photographers will completely lose track of time The fish and ducks are fun to feed, they like quick oats, corn, bread, etc

This is another free botanical garden on the island and it is literally gorgeous. If you don’t want to even step foot onto the grounds, you can ride around in your car and sightsee from the comfort of your seat. I would love to go camping here before I leave the island; it’s just so perfect:) Something to watch out for is if heavy rain is on the forecast, they might close early. But other than that, its schedule is usually accurate.

Probably the best botanical gardens on Oahu. Lots of trails and great scenic views. Admission was free, but they are closed on Thursdays for cleaning. It’s hard to get an Uber/Lyft from inside the botanical gardens. We had to walk all the way outside to be able to get a ride share. The gardens are great though for nature enthusiasts with plants from all over the world.

so beautiful I definitely recommend coming to see this view. People say that this is a 1-2 hour adventure but I personally spent 3 hours here because I just loved walking around and taking so many pictures. you will get the best views if you park your car and just adventure out and look around. I recommend bringing athletic wear since its very muddy and get ready to get dirty. if you wear very nice clothing you will probably not want to walk around a lot. my experience here was very wonderful overall

We arrived right when the gardens opened, and I highly recommend doing the same. The early morning light, peaceful atmosphere, and lack of crowds made the entire experience feel almost magical. The drive into the garden alone is unforgettable. As you enter, you’re greeted by a long, palm tree lined road with the towering Koʻolau Mountains rising dramatically in the background. It’s one of the most iconic and photographed views on the island, and seeing it in person is even more spectacular than any picture could capture. The entire garden feels like you’ve stepped into the world of Jurassic Park. Everywhere you look are towering tropical trees, dense emerald green vegetation, vibrant flowers, and lush rainforest landscapes surrounded by dramatic mountain cliffs. The scenery is so beautiful that it almost doesn’t seem real. What I loved most was how peaceful everything felt. Instead of crowds and noise, you hear birds singing, the breeze moving through the trees, and the sounds of nature all around you. It was one of the most relaxing experiences of our entire vacation and a refreshing change from the busy energy of Waikiki. Whether you’re a photographer, a nature lover, or simply someone who appreciates incredible scenery, this place is an absolute dream. Every turn offers another postcard worthy view, and you’ll leave with some of the most beautiful photos from your Hawaiian vacation. Best of all, it’s completely free to visit, making it one of the best values on Oahu. If you only have time for a few scenic stops while visiting the island, make sure Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden is one of them. It’s a place that reminds you just how extraordinary Hawaii truly is, and it’s a destination we’ll absolutely return to on our next trip.
