Yosemite Glamping in Airstreams

Loved our stay at the Autocamp Yosemite location! We stayed in an airstream (which was a request of the kids - but one pro-tip, the fold out bed is really only big enough for one kiddo above the age of 8 - so pick up or bring a small air mattress if you have more than one kiddo and it will fit great - Walmart by the airport for $30). The queen bed in the bedroom was SO comfortable and left plenty of space to walk comfortably around the bed and store luggage. Great bathroom too. But what really sealed our stay - the staff at the Autocamp were incredible! They went out of their way to be helpful and engaging (including sitting patiently and listening to all of the stories our sons brought back at the end of the day - thank you Mitch!). The bar (beer and wine and maybe some liquor?) was top notch and had great happy hour prices. Small eats on hand there if you get hungry or don't want to venture out. Tons of outdoor games, pool, etc. - we just loved our stay. And very quiet at night. It is about 40 minutes from Yosemite entrance, so getting a car is a must.

As good as camping can get. A bit further from the actual park than we expected but otherwise really good value for the experience. I would personally appreciate the cabins to be cleaned daily and the towels changed without an additional fee. Three nights were just the right amount of time.

Good jumping off point to explore Yosemite. Accommodations were really nice albeit tight for our family of 4. With the cold snap, we could’ve used some extra blankets, especially for the pull out. Also, the shower needed a longer door or a curtain, something to contain the water and prevent the needed post shower clean up. We also think a few more proper tables and chairs in the common area would be nice. The common area has a great vibe but there simply wasn’t enough space for people to eat their meals – especially when a large group took over the one dining table repeatedly. We love that you accept dogs and the grounds are lovely. The staff was great, and the food was reasonably priced and very tasty. Thx!

Pros; very comfortable bed, heated mattress topper for coziness, good pizza Cons; always understaffed so phones/check-in/check-out/ordering food all take forever, horrible parking (imagine San Francisco in the forest), WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE, units are so close together (people were cooking and hanging out at their fire pits 2’ away from the next unit’s window/wall), zero noise regulation (dogs barking to the point where people were yelling and fighting, kids screaming, loud music at units.. all hours of the day and night), complimentary granola at breakfast was nothing like the pictures online (think day old from the junk isle and no fresh fruit), bathrooms in the commons had broken faucets and dirty showers with clumps of hair in multiple places, sickly trees that need pruning or removal. This place is an expensive city. This is not camping or an outdoors experience or an opportunity for quiet peacefulness with nature. This is a place for people who are terrified of nature to vacation ‘safely’.

We stayed here for two nights during our visit to Yosemite - one adult and two kids. We stay in a tent with shared bath and shower. The facilities were nice and clean. Majority of the camp is airstream campers. The tents can get little chilly at night although it’s heated - has a space heater and portable aircon/heater unit. Bring extra blankets. Overall kids like it. Facilities are in excellent condition and clean
