Came to Fredericksburg for a girls trip and heard really good things about slate theory winery. We did a wine tour with Travis and he was the best tour guide, very informational without drowning you in facts. He knew his stuff and made the experience that much more pleasurable. After the tour we explored the vineyards outside, highly recommend.

We were out visiting from Canada and only came upon Slate Theory from a recommendation. It came from an awesome barista at Java Ranch in Fredericksburg. We were able to get in on a rainy afternoon and did a lovely wine tasting with a very bubbly wine expert! We explained that we were from Canada and didn’t have a chance to book a wine tour because this was a last minute thing and she was so kind to connect us with Danny! Danny gave us the whole low down and a quick peak at the cave. He was so knowledgeable and kind. We really enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately they can’t ship their wine to Canada, but, it is something to look forward to! Keep up the great work everyone at Slate Theory is rocking it!

Last minute stop to watch the eclipse. Staff is welcoming and knowledgeable about the wine flight I ordered. Charcuterie board was tasty. Enjoyed the live music (playing black hole sun was very fitting). Even though it was cloudy, the experience and atmosphere made the trip worth it.

Slate Theory has an amazing cave tour! Danny was our tour guide. We were late and we missed our original tour and he was kind enough to accommodate us on the next one even though the winery was so packed and busy. He was such great energy! He gave interesting facts about the winery and he made it fun! The cave is beautiful. Danny even knew the perfect spot/lighting for a group photo of me and my friends. He made our day!!!

My wife and I visited at the beginning of April and we did the cave tasting with Abby. We are very new to the whole wine experience and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Abby was informative and so patient with us as we went through the different tastings. She made our first winery experience one of the best, and we can’t speak enough on how wonderful she was! Thanks to her and Slate Theory, we have officially become wine enthusiasts! Their variety of wines are so delicious, we ended up joining their wine club to enjoy throughout the year. This will be a regular stop for us every time we visit Fredericksburg. Thank you again Slate Theory and Abby for a wonderful experience we won’t ever forget!
