A beautiful building and setting. The indoor decor and ambience is awesome. We got there on a Friday night fairly early or or so we thought and the band was already wrapping up. When you go to the large room, you need to pretty much order yourself from the cell phone, I’m not sure if that was easier or a pain in the butt. The food came out quickly and so did the beverages. The food was very tasty. I just wished there was more going on on a Friday night. Since many of us arrive from out of town late afternoon and are looking for some live music.

My husband and I visited Altstadt unexpectedly. It was a rainy Valentine's day and we had our dog with us. They were very dog friendly and accomodated us in their covered out door seating area. They brought our dog a water bowl with ice! We took advantage of their Valentine's meal. We shared the pork belly which was the perfect delicious bite! We were each given an entre - chicken schnitzel and Jager schnitzel both were delicious but the pork Jager schnitzel was out of this world! We split the peach dessert which was so unique and decadent and a generous severing! We took home a couple of bottles of rose. My husband had the house flight which was a nice break from wine tasting all day! Erika our waitress was the best! She was attentive and funny. Definitely our new favorite place!

We came to Fredericksburg for the weekend and ended up stopping at Alstadt a couple of times. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating spaces great for large groups or couples. The staff is some of the friendliest that I have ever met and the overall hospitality is fantastic. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is that the menu items are hit or miss when it comes to an enjoyable meal or man I wished I would have ordered something else. Dishes I would highly recommend, their chili, the peach bruschetta, the mashed potatoes are some of the best I have ever had and the chicken and waffles!

The music was amazing. This man sang better than I’ve heard in a long time. No joke I want an album of him singing and it made the dining experience so perfect. Food was great, friends said the drinks were great! But the building, the vibe, the MUSIC! I hope they keep them as long as they can

My husband served in the Army and was stationed in German. He kept talking about his favorite beer. This place served his beer, and one of his favorite German dishes. He enjoyed the food. I didn’t care for it, but this experience was for him, and he loved it. We also listened to live music, while eating out on the patio. It was a very enjoyable experience.
