Overall a cool place very unique experience. Screen could be bigger and blankets were expensive on cold night if you didn’t bring your own. Nice drink choices but bit expensive. Good popcorn and nice helpful staff

My wife and I came from Boston, and this was one of the experiences that we did. We came when outside was sunny, but it didn’t affect watching the movie. The rooftop set was very nice, with artificial turf, comfortable seating, and a view of the city. After the movie, because we were on a rooftop, there were sports activities as well, such as tennis and basketball, so we stuck around to try those out. I will definitely do this again! Some things to note: it gets chilly up there, so definitely bring blankets. Trying to find the rooftop cinema experience from within the hotel is like going through a maze, so I would account for that.

Only in California can you watch a movie on the outdoor patio of a hotel in the middle of winter! Though it was a little breezy - they do offer blanket rentals for $14 and you're welcome to bring your own! No outside food or drinks allowed, but their bar has tons of options and many snacks to choose from. There's a variety of movies they play here. I particularly like that they play older movies here! From La La Land to 50 First Dates to Top Gun... I was tempted to watch them all! They also play movies that were currently out in movie theatres and on Netflix too. On the day of the super bowl, they also stream the game! Expect some dog-friendly events to come up soon too. My boyfriend and I shared a loveseat, which is first come first serve. For $18 each and it included popcorn - this was a great deal! We watched 500 Days of Summer (2009) this past Monday and it was so fun. I would love to come back here again!!!

Great experience! I would suggest watching a movie when it starts to get dark outside that way it’s easiest to watch the movie. The sound over headphones was great. Only negative part might have been that the popcorn only comes in tiny portions while still being $5. Other than that.. great.

This was such a fun experience. The place is really clean and very Instagram worthy with the set up and the decorations. The drinks are on the more expensive side and so are the snacks. Not sure if it’s really worth it. But the headphones were great, and the chairs were very comfortable.

What is the age for screenings?

All screenings before 4:30pm are open to all ages. Screenings starting at 4:30pm or later are strictly 18+. **Please note our headphones are one size, so we recommend bringing children ages 5 and up to ensure they're able to tune into the film.

Is there food and drinks or do you bring-your-own?

At the box office, we offer an assortment of concessions including popcorn (vegan), candy and movie snacks. The Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego also provides a full bar for those looking to get their drink on at the Rooftop. In addition, the Hyatt offers a hot and cold food menu for our Matinee and Prime screenings as well as a select menu for our Midday and Late screenings.

Are dogs only allowed on wooftop screenings or can they come to any showing?

Generally, dogs are only welcome to designated Wooftop screenings. However, registered support animals are granted entrance at all times. We just ask that they wear their vests so that the on-site staff is aware.
