The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) is a vast art museum showcasing more than 65,000 works of art across various buildings, including the Audrey Jones Beck Building, Caroline Wiess Law Building, Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden, and the Glassell School of Art. The museum features two house museums for decorative arts: Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, and Rienzi. Visitors can also enjoy two cafés, a repertory cinema, two libraries, and a range of events, exhibitions, and film screenings.

Such a wonderful museum. The Kehinde Wiley exhibit was undoubtedly my favorite exhibit. It took us a few hours to see the whole museum, so wear comfortable walking shoes. There are a lot of other museums and art work to experience in the area too!

Houston Museum District is a treasure. So many choices and they are all amazing. The Archeology of Silence exhibition is what I chose this time. Absolutely a must see.

It was better than I expected. The Museum is divided not by centuries and ages, but by Empires and countries of origin. I liked that very much. I visited during weekend, it was a bit busy, but there was no rush. Has cafeteria inside if you feel like eating.

Went to check out the Kinder building. Absolutely mind blowing! Such a treasure to have such an expansive and well curated collection right here in Houston Texas. Free entry on Thursdays is just the cherry on top! I highly recommend this world class institution to anyone who lives in or visits Houston

I've been in this museum several times, visiting non permanent expositions, and always is a treat. Always when I am done with the non permanent exposition, I reserved some time to wander around all the different permanent expositions and every single time I really enjoy it. If you are an art lover, you must visit this museum.

The MFAH is open Wednesday 11 am - 5 pm, Thursday 11 am - 9 pm, Friday - Saturday 11 am - 6 pm, and Sunday 12:30 pm - 6 pm. Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

What is the admission fee?

General admission is $19 for adults, $16 for seniors, free for military personnel, $12 for college students and youth, and free for children 12 and under.
