Hike the Devil's Hall Trail

The park range told us the trail is easy for the first mile and all boulders the next mile. We found out the last mile is so difficult and it took us 5 hours to get in and back out. We are old people and really slow but we made it.

Beautiful terrain! So much fun climbing boulders and trekking my way to Devil's Hall. Hiking during the fall gives you some amazing colors. Not a person in sight the entire hike until I made my way back.

The 1st mile of the trail is easygoing, but it gets more rough in the 2nd mile. Lots of watching your footing and climbing over rocks. There's a bit right before Devil's Hall where you have to shimmy along the rocks to get around the basin of a, I think it's supposed to be a waterfall? RIP my ankles.

If you do this in summer, take plenty of water. Those rocks make it even hotter. Beautiful, somewhat challenging hike. Scrambling over the rocks in the wash isn't hard as long as you take your time and watch your step. The big boulders are easy, it's the little ones that will take your ankles if you aren't paying attention. Payoff is definitely worth it but there were soooo many swarming flies on my hike that it nearly made me question it for a while. But highly recommend.

Beautiful rock formations, and fun (if you like climbing boulders) for the whole family. My dare devil 7 year old and not so dare devil 9 year old had a blast. Took us under 3 hours including lots of play time during the last 1/3rd with the little one climbing on top of everything in sight. The kids were a bit apprehensive coming back down the steps that lead to the Hall but they made it easily once they started.
