Discover the Serenity of McKinney Falls State Park

Very nice park, lots of trails. Lots of bathrooms and parking, especially by the visitor center. Most trails are pretty easy to walk. Dogs allowed on trails, on a leash, not allowed in water. I saw people fishing, and swimming. Beautiful rock formations near both the Upper and Lower falls. Camping available with reservation.

First time we visited these falls. It was a beautiful experience. We wanted to spend some time here. We visited two areas which were really beautiful. One was lower McKinney falls state park. Somehow the nature was so beautiful here. The waterfall sounds with the setting sun and light breeze made it so calming. Second we visited the upper McKinney falls area. The visitors center was closed but it was big. We took the trail and upper falls area was also spectacular. The water falls with the setting sun , greenery all around such a calming and pleasant place to be. We also walked through a small trail and it was so green. I really wonder how beautiful it would be if there was good rain and more water in the falls. Amazing visit though. I was surprised by the amount of Picnic spots they had. Will be back though for more trails and picnics.

First time here. Came to see the falls, do some hiking, and have some lunch. Visited on a Tuesday, so park was pretty empty. Interpretive center was closed (only open Fri-Sun). Park is very well kept, hiking trails well marked, and map kiosks well placed. There were plenty of restrooms and they were clean and maintained. There are several picnic areas, so we chose one down from the upper falls and cooked some steaks and corn which we enjoyed before heading home. I highly recommend this park!

Very good Park to visit with Friends and Family. They have some very good trails. We did the Homestead 3.1 mile trail and it was awesome. We will definitely visit here again to explore other trails. Just make sure the climate is good. There is a $6 entry fee per person. But this is definitely worth it.

I have visited Austin several times but never been to this state park. To be frank, I really thought I'd be underwhelmed but it was the exact opposite. This is possibly one the most gorgeous parks to visit in the spring. I am so impressed by how immaculate it is kept as well, almost no trash throughout the whole park. There are also so many cool picnic areas to go hang out at and cook some food. The river is gorgeous and full of life. And of course you can't beat the bluebonnets which are in full bloom right now. I will definitely be returning here. I would love to see how their camping is.
