Fantastic tour by speedboat! Way better than expected!! The narrated tour was excellent- we got to see lots of great sights up close and away from the crowds! Hitting the waves was a blast!! Really recommend this but especially if you have limited time in SD to see sights!! David was a super tour guide and speed boat momma duck!! 🦆

Such a fun and amazing experience! This is a must do as a tourist or as a local! The boat goes about 30MPH which is pretty quick on water. You get your own speedboat and can go as quick as you like depending how fast the tour guide is going. We would zip around and the tour guide was on his own boat and tell you about the attractions on speaker. It was so exhilarating! I went with my cousin and am planning to go again with my bf!

It was a lot of fun. Scared for my life a few times with the giant wake and boat lunches out of the water. But, made it back safe thanks to our guide who was funny, informative, and all around a good tour guide. I will suggest friends to do this too. Just early in the morning before the big boats cause crazy water conditions.

Took my partner out for her birthday and she loved it! The boat ran great, David was an excellent guide and made sure the group understood all the safety things we needed to know. The tour was informative but also light, we got to see some local wildlife, and most importantly we got to speed through the water. The boats were easy to operate after a couple minutes of getting the hang of it, and although it occasionally gets bumpy when you hit some of the "waves" made by other boats, you have total control over how aggressively you want to drive. One note of recommendation is to bring Sunglasses or eye protection, and also secure your loose items/jackets/hats, as there's a lot of wind when you're driving fast. 10/10 would recommend and also bring friends back here. My girlfriend was ecstatic once we were done with the tour!

Such a fun experience! I've never had the chance to drive a speed boat before, and this did NOT disappoint. I would definitely do it again!

FAQs

Are there any restrictions or weight requirements?

Age/Children: We recommend children riding with adults be five and older. Children under five are welcome on a case-by-case basis, as long as the conditions of the water are fair, and the child can hold on, physically. If the conditions are rough, it is not safe for a child under five. Age/Driver: To drive the boat alone, a person must be 18 years old. People 16 and up may drive as long as an adult is in the boat, as well. Height/Weight: No height requirement. Each boat may not exceed 450 lbs.

Any health restrictions?

Part of the fun of San Diego speed boat rental with Speed Boat Adventures is that, at times, we will be riding in open water. Although usually calm, the harbor can be choppy at times.* We do not recommend guests with neck or back problems or a recent surgery participate. Pregnant women should not participate.*

What to bring / wear?

The great thing about our tours is that you really don’t get wet so you can wear anything you like. Our guests wear anything from bathing suits to business suits depending on the weather. If it’s chilly outside we have blankets, gloves, and jackets for you.
